Film Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

General Film
I loved 2049 and the original for very different reasons, but the idea of an anthology tv series would be great—especially if they decided to go the animated route. Otherwise, just do a limited series if an inflating budget is a concern.

Just saw "CNN Special: The Trump Insurrection" on HBO Max, seems like they just added it tonight.

Since I only get "OTA" TV I've only seen footage of the insurrection from the local and national news (i.e. ABC, NBC, etc), so there was a lot more footage that I hadn't seen before that was absolutely chilling. Geez. Still can't believe that actually happened. In any case, worth watching.

I watched it on CNN.

I noticed no Dune footage, even though they mention the title.

Fight the good fight Lengendary!

Dune actually benefits from a HBO Max release, it can get sequel greenlighted (based on viewership numbers) Only theatrical release plan is disasterous as I don't see it getting commercial success.

I don't see how it benefits. Legendary paid for 75% of the film's budget and with the simultaneous streaming release, WB would pretty much be the only ones who'd gain something. Also, even for them, numbers for Wonder Woman don't seem that great and it was a far bigger IP. If they don't charge extra money they won't be able to get enough from new subscribers to bring revenue. And if they do, they will get fewer people. Plus piracy.

I think the experiment showed that only way a film can make profit is by releasing it in cinemas post covid or when the situation is far more stabilised. Right now they're doomed either way.

''In the US Only''... then pirated online immediately for the rest of the world. How much money are they losing on this thing?

Looks like they removed the 4 from The Matrix title. Hope we get an official title soon.

Has anyone checked out that new Anne Hathaway, Chiwetel Ejiofor movie "Locked Down?" I'm 30 minutes in and....this is an odd movie, man. Definitely not what I was expecting based on the trailer.

Yeah it’s bad

Ok so def not worth finishing then? What a waste of an interesting premise.

Yeah I lasted maybe 30 minutes. Plus I realized I didn’t really want to watch a movie that reminded me we are still in lockdown.

Just started watching The Flight Attendant. This show is...a lot. :funny:

I’ve seen it.

Just Matrix, if they stay with this title. It's becoming a trend in Hollywood lately to have sequels with the same name as the first one (Suicide Squad, Halloween, Scream).
Thanks. It’s happening in gaming too. I don’t really like films in the same series having the same name. Seems a bit unimaginative as well as creating an unnecessary hassle when referring to them distinctly.
