Film Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

General Film
What else did he try to do? I mean I wish he had the power of flight. If perhaps he had that, he could have removed Zod from the situation, but alas, Superman has never been able to fly. :o

The stupidty of the situation comes from the fact that Snyder and Goyer write it all into a corner. What should of happened is pretty obvious imo. Everyone goes back into the Phantom Zone. They spent an ridiculous amount of time setting it up. But instead of the obvious idea of the plan of Team Earth being to open up the Phantom Zone and throw everyone back into it, Snyder and Goyer went completely teen boy with it. The world engine sequence literally exist for the punchy, punchy. As if the movie doesn't have enough of that already.

Like I said, agree to disagree. It was pretty clear to me that Zod was going to stop at nothing until he killed all the humans. He had nothing left to lift for unless it was getting revenge on Superman by killing everyone. Flying him away wasn’t going to do much good. Zod could fly too. He would just be back. Zod was also the more skilled fighter so I don’t I don’t think Superman could have lasted any longer in an all out fight.

My favorite line from that ep: "I am Clark Kent. I need to be Clark Kent. I’d go crazy if I were Superman all the time.”

That single line alone tells us more about Clark Kent as a character than the entirety of either Man Of Steel or BvS ever did. :o
Meanwhile in the movies, they couldn't kill off Clark quick enough

I hate the Superman pic they chose for the profiles. They used Season one JL Superman with the prominent cheekbones and bags under his eyes.

The 90s live-action TMNT movies are on HBO Max, along with The Mummy 1999. Gonna have to rewatch those! Also the Beverly Hills Cop, Rocky, and Gremlins series are all there too. Have seen both Gremlins, but not the other two series. Can't wait to finally check them out.

So. many. movies on HBO Max that I'm starting to find it a little too ridiculously awesome. Neither Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime have this kind of selection and it's mind-blowing the majority of the content is mostly from a single studio in the form of WB.

Not saying the other services are bad, but the movie selection on HBO Max is hands down the best. I feel like the other 3 are thriving mostly from their original TV series on the other hand.

Still haven't seen the Snyder Cut yet, but can't wait for GvK on there next!

Btw: the Aliens series and The Thing 1982 are leaving on 3/31, so now's the time to catch those for anyone who might want to! I've been seeing these FOX movies end up on Hulu recently so that's apparently where they're going now.

HBO Max is unmatched at this point in terms of its film selection.

I blame that on Snyder ultimately. Insofar as he has interest in Superman, its in Superman as Physical God Residing On Earth. Doc Manhattan with a more tangible powerset.

I would say he isn't that interested in Superman or Clark. He's interested in Kal-El. But now with his Justice League, I do appreciate his take on the character over the three films.

Not a terrible way to put it. Which, being fair, its hardly an uncommon mistake. Lots of people fall into the "Kal-El is the real person" trap.

The horror selection on HBO Max is also just wild. Leatherface: TCM III is coming??? LOL

New Suicide Squad trailer is out. I won’t link because it’s R-rated. But Stallone is in it?

It's ABOUT TIME. I have the complete series but this deserves to be seen by everyone.

Is the show really that good? I saw a couple episodes back in the day as a kid, but never the whole show. Mostly because the titular nanny had that really annoying voice. :o

But if it's actually a good show, I'll give it a try.

It's a classic imo. Right up there with Golden Girls, Roseanne, Married w/Children, Cheers.

"The HBO Max audience has spoken very clearly and loudly: they love this film and are watching it more than once,” said Andy Forssell, Executive Vice President and General Manager, WarnerMedia Direct-to-Consumer. “Comparing audience metrics in the first four days since its release, ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ had a larger viewing audience than any other film or show on HBO Max since launch.”

HBO Max would be doing much better in terms of subscribers if it was available internationally, imo.

Started watching Happy Endings last night. For some reason I never got into New Girl, which has a similar vibe and even shares an actor, but I really like this series.

I didn’t love Happy Endings until S2, but then I REALLY loved it. I thought it was far better than New Girl, tbh (which I also enjoyed). To me, Happy Endings and Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23 are probably two of the most underrated sitcoms of the last decade or so.

Had no idea Happy Endings was on HBO Max. What a hilarious show that was gone too soon.
