Had no idea Happy Endings was on HBO Max. What a hilarious show that was gone too soon.

I didn’t love Happy Endings until S2, but then I REALLY loved it. I thought it was far better than New Girl, tbh (which I also enjoyed). To me, Happy Endings and Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23 are probably two of the most underrated sitcoms of the last decade or so.

Don’t Trust the B was so great. Ritter really was perfect for that role.

Happy Endings was marketed terribly. The only reason I even knew of its existence is because one night I was like "hmm, I wonder what Elisha Cuthbert has been up to?" The two people I knew that watched it enjoyed it, so maybe I'll check it out now that it's on HBO.

Started watching Happy Endings last night. For some reason I never got into New Girl, which has a similar vibe and even shares an actor, but I really like this series.

I adore New Girl, and seeing 'Happy Endings' get positively compared to it definitely moves it onto my list. Always good to get more Damon Wayans Jr., I feel like he's been horridly underutilized by Hollywood/Television.

By the time New Girl aired, I think I was sick of Zooey Deschanel’s pixie girl schtick so that was a turn off for me for the show. And then I saw clips here and there, and while I liked Jake Johnson, everyone else seems so smug.

And when Happy Endings premiered, I was still scarred from Cuthbert’s acting on 24 that I wasn’t interested. But enough time has passed that I don’t mind her now.

Cuthbert was actually super funny on Happy Endings. That whole core cast was great. Even though it was shorter lived, I liked Happy Endings better than New Girl overall. The humor is even weirder.

Hearing Happy Endings is on HBO Max is delightful. An underrated gem. Could have caught on the way Schitt's Creek did.

Happy Endings was the 2010's Friends show we deserved dammit (especially after how HIMYM ended)! I was cheering on that show, but ABC ****ed it up.

All this Happy Endings love is making me so happy . It’s one of my favourites and it was cancelled far too early. Ditto Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23.

ABC also aired season one completely out of order. Can’t imagine that helped the show.

Anyway, I find it usually takes a season or two for a cast to click or me to like the characters but I’m really loving the Happy Endings cast. I’m about halfway through the first season. It’s fun to see Max Greenfield do a guest role (assume this was right before he got New Girl) as well as the actor who played Rich on Community do a spot as Penny’s date with a dubious last name. I know they did a Covid Zoom reunion last year so I’ll save that for when I’m done with the series.

That and Arrested Development were what I knew them for when they were hired for TWS. I remember being so confused when that announcement happened. I was like "OMG those guys?! I LOVE their...sitcoms..."

Gotta say, I've never expected to come into the HBO Max thread and have it be mostly a Happy Endings love-fest, but I'm here for it!

Day-date especially doesn’t make sense if you aren’t offering Max to overseas subscribers where they aren’t being vaccinated at the same rate as US
