I can't wait to see how they will sell that the lifetime discount on a streaming service called HBO Max will not apply to this totally brand-new service called Max. Slightly shorter name but totally has more content. Just from Discovery+ of all things.

My first thought on the Max name was: wait they're changing the name to the same thing as a all but dead channel. Cinemax has been called Max for what has to be 20 years or so. By the way I still don't think all of the Cinemax shows are on HBO Max. I may be in the minority but HBO Max having Strike Back available to watch would add value. Why not just go with HBO Discovery or WB Discovery as neither overshadows the content but in my opinion lets you know up front what the content is.​

That's just silly. Why use one of the more recognizable and/or prestigious brands (Warner Bros., HBO, Cinemax, Discovery, etc.) when you can just use 'max'. Calling your service WB Direct or WB Destination or WB Home something like! Now THAT's the silly options!

Anyway all kidding aside I hope they wake up before they finalize that.

With them reportedly selling off chunks of their content to other streaming services like Amazon Prime Video while raising prices on their merged service it's looking like a worse deal all the time.

Comcast buys Max and rebrands Peacock as Peacock Max, for example. Two bad names for the price of one.
