Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

Big power move right there. Still have HBO Max, but it being home to A24 films is just another bonus.

Still the best streaming library in the game imo...but probably the worst app

A lot of speculation that the money bags power behind the WBD and Zaslav throne - John Malone - wants to buy Paramount.

The worst big media company for any media to merge with.

Don’t want Zaslav being in charge of any more of the industry.

Para-Warner Media
Mount Warner Media
Paramount-Warner Bros. Electric Boogaloo.

Can WB breathe? How can the greatest studio in the world is bought out and merged every 5 years?

Malone and Zaslav’s apparent play is to acquire all the smaller studios and try to sell out to either Comcast, Apple, Amazon, etc.

Like the Embracer Group in video games tried to do with Saudi Arabia.

Welcome to the modern corporate thinking. If you aren't buying, you are looking for a buyer.

It is the one item that I give the trash human Rupert Murdoch respect for. He knew what the trends were and what he was expected to do. And realized it wouldn't work, so he got out.

Doesn't bother me any. Paramount has a decent library but not enough for me to subscribe on its own. Price of the brick will go up but I wouldn't mind to have access to the Paramount library.

But damn that'll mean Showtime (or whatever they're calling the actual channel now) will merge with HBO. That's pretty crazy to think about

Along with Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon

This would be a massive change if they merged, like how Disney acquired 20th Century few years ago. In less than a decade, the big 6 is going to be big 4. I'm just thinking all the TV networks that are going to be under 1 company, and WB Pictures/Paramount Pictures and their respective ips under the same company? I don't think this is necessarily good but I'm interested to see all the changes.

Assuming Zaslav doesn't see how Paramount+ Showtime works (its really, really bad), and thinks that's a wonderful idea.

Well, duh. My friend said it best. It’s two melting icebergs thinking if they combine, they won’t stop melting

Only a matter of time before all of these major studios inevitably are bought out by ISPs. Though I'd love to know the combined. Paramount Warner Bros Discovery? PWBD, so as to differentiate it from PVOD?

Paramount Warner Bros Discovery is such a mouthful name.

ViacomCBS was just renamed as Paramount Global few years ago. I think if a merge happened, they are better off creating a new name, like MaX Global or something.

Paramount Discovery Global. Probably.
