Hey, since the spider-man stories ae finally "going somewhere" with peter takeing a huge leap, and revealing his identity. I beleive with this new phase in spider-man life, its time he and M.J. have a child as well. Its about time IMO, that they gave spider-man something he wants more then anything else. Peter was once a shy young teen, and then a troubled college student, and now hes a grown married man. The evolution of the spider-man chracter is finally going further these days. Its time to give him a kid, and im sure that would be a really great story. Because their is no greater adventurer IMO then raiseing a child. Peter Parker will finally come full circle, he will finally become that man his uncle new he could be. for a long time, i felt that the spider-man stores were going nowhere. Hell i feel that way about comic book heroes in general these days. They are stuck perpentually young, and they never seem to go past a certain point in the comics. lets all be honest comics haven't really gone anywhere per say for years. The heroes are kept in a time loop, and their represented in some timeless fashion that never changes at times.

Do you guys ever wonder what spider-man wil be like as an old-man? What all the heroes wil be like years from now in comic book time. The heroes always are shown putting on the mask, but they are rarely shown takeing it off. I just see spider-man haveing a kid as a way to finally make this character grow up, and move forward in his life.

They'll never have a child. Given that Joe Q and others think that the marriage itself ages Peter too much, spider-diapers would probably make him ancient to them.

Well, KIND of. There is Spider-Girl after all.

Now if the morons would just let Baby May play out in 616-land...

Alternate realities don't count. Peter's got like a hundred children if we count those.

No kid in the future.

Breaking up their marriage is Joe Q's next conquest. :down

if you count them wolverine has a daughter

Well, I read an interview with Joe Q and JMS in Wizard where Joe Q says the biggest screwup in Spidey's history is him getting married. Later in the article they say another big event is planned for later in the year that will "finally fix Spider-Man". I take that to me MJ is either gonna die or Pete and MJ will be divorced in the near future.

Even if you don't count them, he does. Sure, she's an adopted daughter we never see, but he's still got one.

if they kill off MJ, ill drop all spidey books, and hes my favorite :(

If you wanna "finally fix Spider-Man" you better find a way to get rid of all the crap Joe Quesada has heaped upon him. The man's hubris is even larger than his gut, I swear.

He thinks all the problems with Spider-Man stem from other people's deicisions, yet he can't see that maybe just maybe that what's wrong with Spider-Man is organic web-shooters, wrist-stingers, Iron Man-built costumes with robot legs, biting peoples' heads off, shedding his skin and wrapping himself in a cocoon, unmasking himself on national television, etc. etc.

Peter's marriage to MJ has worked just fine for almost twenty years. TWENTY ****ING YEARS! Most readers have been reading a married Spider-Man for their entire lives.

So no, ditching the marriage won't fix Spider-Man. Ditching all the pretentiousness in the people who plot and write for him and going back to the basics of what makes Spider-Man a fun character to read about will fix him. Quesada, JMS, Peter David and whoever else are so busy trying to find fault with the past that they can't see how royally they are ****ing Spider-Man over right now.

Peter and Mary Jane DID have a kid, that's where the basis fer Spider-Girl came from. She gave birth in Spidey #75 and it was revealed sometime later that the baby was in the possession of Alison Mongraine and kidnapped back by Kaine. But since they don't think our memories can go back that far, they claim th' baby's been dead since #75 and that's all. Like we're ****ing morons and not them.

If they killed her why would you drop them if Pete's you're favorite?

I like Baby May not being around for the moment, cos at least JQ can't kill HER off for civil war.

i think , within the next ten years, when someone who actually knows/ likes spider-man takes over that they'll put a writer in that will write in kaine and baby May. trust me, kaine IS raising May, its the only logical explanation.

Seeing as he only ever protected peter because he thought peter was a clone too it makes sense. Now that kaine knows peters the real deal and its not ben reilly he'll treat pete like he treated ben - make his life hell! how? keep pete's baby. it makes sense :)

The only thing that pisses me off is how a couple can "lose" a baby and marvel havnt devoted one thought bubble to the topic for years. And yet even george frikin stacy still gets a mention once ina blue moon. sigh...

i think he meant spider-man is his fave character out of ALL comic books. he doesnt wana drop his comics but will if MJ died

the comic is my favorite, and MJ is a stong part of peter's life... they tried killing her once... they tried breaking them up, but guess what.. did either time it work? did either time the readers like having MJ and peter split? NO.. it FAILED... so why try for a 3rd time? Peter has evolved.. hes not the same person he was when he was a teenager, and shouldnt be.

then again spider-man as an institution in american comics will never die. in theory they could get away with killing MJ for good and im sure they know it

I actually felt really bad for her...

Theyre pretty similar if you think about it.

in some ways yes... but MJ hasn't really hit nearly as big... plus Britt didnt come from an abusive house hold.

If you wanna compare popstars, Lindsay Lohan is much closer..

Red hair, deadbeat dad who actually hit there daughters and mother, actress.

And don't forget, ever since MJ lost her modeling career and she left her soap opera shes been struggling to find work... She struggled for a while to even get a gig for a broadway play for a while. Hell lately her character development has been thrown down the tube.. all we ever see of her and may is just them being couped up in the avengers tower...

Giving Spider-Man a kid would basically be jumping the shark, although you could argue that he's jumped the shark, like, 4 times since the start of Joe Quesada's reign. :o
