O.m.i.t.

If anyone believes this story is going to put them back together well I am also king of the Wicker people

I just find this hilarious. "You should all just get over OMD and forget about it.... OH! And here's another major story piece putting it back in your face years later!"
Guess the fans that hated that story line are nicely having it shoved back in our faces all over again. That's. Just. Lovely.

Man I'm glad I'm still not buying ASM

Well, now that's a bit hypocritical if you've been complaining about how OMD left a lot of holes that were never filled. They can't address the plot holes without revisiting the story, but they can't revisit the story because it'll just piss people off again, but people will be pissed anyway if they don't address the plot holes. No-win situation.

I dont think its the plot holes that piss people off about OMD...i think it has more to do with the making a deal with the devil

Well, yeah, but fans have complained about every single aspect of OMD.

well the plot holes were a secondary complaint to the devil retconing the marriage

They could've plugged the holes back, say, years ago when they first wrote that crap. What's really hypocritical is them expecting people that hated it to just forget about it and put it in the past and then bringing the whole thing back up into the forefront. Joey Q even has made jokes about how people that hate it won't let it go even though years have passed, now he pulls this bullcrap?!
As for the holes, I never cared much about that, I care about the complete betrayal of the integrity that the character stood for and the fact that they regressed the character by about 3 decades.

seems like its JQ's way of throwing it in the face of the OMD haters

I think the people that clearly hate it should just read other books that they like while letting the people the do like it the luxury of coming on board and not ever having to hear ad nauseum about how "crappy" the book we like to read is...

:whatever: :whatever: :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

:yay:

So if I am a Spider-man fan and I feel that Marvel jacked up the character I should **** because you dont want to hear it

That's nice. We're messing with your "LALALALALA can't hear you LALALALALA Spider-man is better now that it's ruined LALALALALALA"?

Wow MoB, I'm disappointed, so basically if something doesn't agree with you they should just shut up?

and if you were tired about it then blame Marvel for bringing it up again

No Bill, but after 2 1/2 years, I would appreciate it if these people would bring something NEW to the table rather than the same old prosaic complaints...

I have no issues with what people like and dislike, nor do I have a problem with people discussing what they like and dislike... but when we read it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, it gets rather tiresome... please... bring a new argument to the table as to why it's so bad or whatever...

Yes, Peter Parker made a deal with Mephisto... he's also made PLENTY of stupid decisions in his crime-fighting career (how many people have died because he let Venom go free?), but I digress... he made a deal with Mephisto, and we've heard the complaints... so now what? Marvel has made plenty of good efforts to fill in the 100 day void in between OMD & BND to explain a lot of the discrepencies, with only a few yet to be seen... but I'm afraid that won't be "good" enough for "some" people because we're still hearing about how their childhood hero has been sullied (over and over, etc...)

I responded to you Bill because at least you treated my frustrated post with some respect as opposed to some "pretend humour"... so thanks.

Mike

Like Corpy said... at least Marvel is trying to mend continuity by making it all work... so they're damned if they do, and damned if they don't...

Makes me glad I'm just a casual Spider-Man fan. I've only been reading about OMD, BND and The Other storylines because of Wizard which saves me money from having to buy every issue.

It is pretty boring. I haven't read a single issue of Amazing Spider-Man since "One More Day" and even I'm tired of seeing this s*** over and over again.

Granted, everyone's free to share their opinion around here, so I'm not gonna do anything about it. But good God, is it boring. :o

On that promo pic it says "Quesada and Rivera", as in Paolo Pivera? If so....YEEESS!! I love Rivera's art.

I understand that the same arguement over and over is boring but when a controversial move like OMD is made its going to ruffle a few people's feathers. We are talking about something that happened in 2007 and still people are upset about this.

Yes, us anti-OMDers continue to complain, but there's premise for it. The effects of OMD are still felt to this day. The same issues that ticked us off back then are still in play now and nothing's been done to asuage that. And unlike, say, bad writing, this is a complete status quo change on a character that many of us love. And so as long as, in our views, Marvel is destroying a character we love, we have the right to complain about their doing so.

And yes, it may get old hearing the same things over and over again, but many pro-BNDers (yourself included if I'm not mistaken) also get mad when we point out new things, such as every rehashed 70's and 80's plot that shows up. We try a new angle and we're then criticized for criticizing for that as well and told to let it go.

So why go with new stuff? I complain about all of it and plan to continue doing so for as long as it annoys me.

My friend I am no way a Pro BND...in fact Civil War and OMD are what caused me to drop Marvel comics all together. I think everyone should speak out..yell it from the mountains but also vote with your dollars...if you truely hate OMD/BND then you shouldnt buy it. The only reason its going on is because sales didnt drop.....if anyone at Marvel had half a brain there should have been a Spidey book that continued with the marriage....Spider-man Forever
