O.m.i.t.

So, this continuation of One More Day is all part of Marvel's new "HEROIC Age," correct?

F the new Ultimate series. SSM was awesome and should have been kept going. *****ebags...

Plus, I can't stand that everything Spider-Man has to be "Ultimized", the new film franchise, the new animated series. Ultimate Spider-Man sucks. Besides, SSM was pretty much based USM in a way. Why start from scratch after 2 seasons?

Ultimate's pretty much a dying brand, too. I wonder why they keep using it for adaptations.

The mainstream MU is pretty dark and edgy if you ask me.

Yeah, now. Largely thanks to the influence of writers who conceived of the Ultimate universe. :o

You know, regardless of what we all may think of Bendis, if you think about it, the guy single handedly brought Marvel Comics back from the brink of destruction. Yeah everything is dark and gritty now but Marvel would be in a very different place now if it weren't for him.

Yeah, for some reason everyone bought into the Ultimate crap. The only thing I liked was Ultimates 1 and 2 just because I was a huge fan of The Authority and the epic "Michael Bay" kind of comic stories.

I think after the the crap-fest that was the 90's, people were just fed up with comics and it wasnt too hard to impress after that whole fiasco. Bendis had a fresh, different idea and it didnt involve big muscles, pouches, guns and knives, gritted teeth and corny one-liners.

The 90's weren't too bad, just a lot of ups and downs. Spidey sucked for most of the decade and the X-Men were good. The Avengers line was getting back into shape when Marvel did suck ass stupid Heroes Reborn, but after a year of that all was well. Marvel Knights was great too.

The X-men were horrible during the 90's man. Marvel had like 20 different titles with an 'X' on it come out monthly and it was just a stream on constant crossovers.

However, we did have some gems in the 90's such as Marvels, Kingdom Come, Morrison's Justice League, Sandman, and of course all those awesome Marvel and DC cartoons. But other than that, the era was just very very chaotic and this is coming from someone who grew up during the 90's.

Hey, Ultimate Spider-Man was an amazing series, absolutely awesome, right up until near issue 100 or so.

Nowadays unfortunately they have an artist on it that I can barely stand to look at his work.

Constant crossovers....yes. But they weren't bad. Ages of Apocalypse, Legion Quest, Onslaught were all undeniably good. Scott Lobdell did a great job with UXM and XM post Onslaught.

We all know exactly who is to blame for the fall of the Ultimate line. But I digress this is not the ultimate thread, this is about Omit.

I'll deny there was anything good about onslaught. That was piss poor writing all around. It was like the dragon ballers made a pit stop in the MU.

I liked the fact that Thor was instrumental in his downfall. But yeah, mostly s***ty.

You don't look hard enough for your silver linings. If there was never Onslaught, than we never would have been treated to Leifelds's She-Cap. (It's been posted so many times, I don't even find it necessary to do so again...It's like a one-name Diva...everyone can call it up visually on their own.)

And I know I'll regret this but: What are dragon-ballers?(and are they related to teabaggers?)

He was basically saying that Onslaught was like Dragonball Z but in the marvel universe.

You have a point there.

Dragon ball is this ridiculous japanese anime cartoon with people trying to steal dragon balls. Each episode breaks down to the simple plot line of the character continuously getting stronger and stronger to fight an opponent doing the same. Hero gets beat, hero suddenly gets even stronger, villain gets beat, villain gets even stronger,...etc. Basically the premise of most hulk comics recently.
