There's something interesting I heard on IGN, about how Oblivion on the PS3 will load faster, and that confused me, because I've heard how the PS3 is the slower when it comes to loading. The explanation is basically that the PS3's cell proccessor has the ability to have data duplicated, so's it's not in only one place, and is therefore easier to find.

That has nothing to do with the "Cell processor" at all. It has everything to do with the storage capacity of the disk. Duplicating data on the disk means the same data in more areas of the disk, so the laser can get to it faster.

Did you read the IGN article? I'm pretty sure they mentioned the cell proccessor when explainng why the loads would be faster, but I could be wrong.

How fast something loads has two parts how fast the CPU can deal with what is being streamed form the disk. The other is how fast data is streamed. Blu-ray is slow at reading. So even if Cell can process the data stream faster Blu-ray needs to have multiple burns of the whole game on the disk to not be slow.
