It's nice to have a self-hating Yankee fan. Provides a nice balance to Gamma Ray and all those other fair weather braggarts (this means you Poeman).

Still, there's like 1 of him and 5 of them.

Wow, that loss hurts. And kind of teaches me a lesson. Sorry all. :(

Why leave AJ in?? Girardi does this way too often. He did it with Pettitte in that other game. It also sucks that this game came down to Swisher. This is why Hinske should be on the bench. Guzman is a waste of space.

as a manger, at what point do you let the pitcher tell you he's ok or take him out??

The thing is AJ had settled down after the first inning, and then once he gets the lead he goofs up. I can't blame Girardi for last night. They just better win saturday night. They are the better team.

The rally was amazing. Everyone has to admit that. The ending was sad. :(

Agreed. People need to stop blaming Girardi for everything that goes wrong. Did Girardi throw that meatball over the plate to Vlad after he looked so foolish on the breaking ball before that? And so far, it's almost guaranteed that every time he goes to Joba or Hughes they give up a hit as soon as they come in. Outside of Mo, bullpen has not been sharp. I thought it would be better, I was wrong.

I knew the Yanks would lose last night, just didn't expect it to be in that manner. I was pretty confident before last night's game that it would be Yankees in 6. Angels are too good for people to not expect them to go down without a fight. However, coming back the way the Yankees did and still losing I'm starting to think we may be seeing the sequel to:

Kingfish, I cant wait to come in here after the Yankees win and provide you with a nice balance of 'OWNED'. Maybe some of that humbled pie shut your lame ass comments up.

Additionally, if you haven't noticed, Angels fans are the biggest bandwagon fans in baseball...Thank your coach for coming in and turning this franchise around. Most fans that even attend the games are more then half the time reading People magazine in the stands or twittering on their blackberrys.
And lets not forget how stupid the name Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim sounds... They coulnt even keep the name of their own city that they had to use the LA name to better tap into that media market to generate more fans  Arte Moreno...

Anyways, I know there is always second guessing with Girardi, but last night was ALL on the Bullpen and Burnett ****ting the joint in the 7th.

Swisher needs to be pushed all the way down in the lineup or swapped with Gardner. He had a good fight with Fuentes, and Fuentes had the jitters and looked like he was going to crap in his pants...Swish was just so late on that fastball.

I hope the rain stops tomorrow and shuts these bandwagon Angels fans on SHH up for a few more months.

Great game last night, and Yankees bullpen really blew it up. Now Yankees must win Game 6, otherwise CC will have to pitch Game 7 and that will jeopardize his chance to start Game 1 of the WS (if they made it there). The pressure's on the Yanks, and it'll be interesting how each team respond.

I disagree...The Yankees of 2004 had worse pitching (Remember Kevin Brown, Job Leiber, Esteban Loiaza) and their hitting in the 04 playoffs was just stagnant.
This yankee team is a bit more poised compared to the other teams who whacked at everything...
If we were to lose this series, it will be because of our bullpen

Its like a marathon and honestly, to overcome the Yankees recent problems in the postseason they will have to go through those same adversities in the same circumstances.
If this yankee team is for real, then they will prove it if they beat the Angels and advance to win the World Series....It never was going to be easy.

So you're going to act even more like a dick? Nice.

No, they're not. Yankee fans still own that title; now more than ever.

Thank your coach for coming in and turning this franchise around.
Manager, not coach.

People are using their blackberries everywhere. Got proof of people reading People or are you just talking out of your ass?

1) If he continues to carry on with his dumbass remarks referring to Yankees fans like me then why shouldn't I?
2) Your opinion on yankees fans does not mean much to me, as a met fan you would root for an enemy like the Phillies.
3) In baseball, a number of coaches assist in the smooth functioning of a team. They are assistants to the manager, or head coach, who determines the lineup and decides how to substitute players during the game.
Source: Wiki
-I understand the guy is called a manager, but he still is the leading coach of the team
4) I heard about this from Joe Beningo and Evan Roberts on local WFAN 660 AM radio, if youre from NY and listen to sports radio then youd know who Im talking about.

CC will not be able to start game 1 of the WS if he has to pitch game 7 against the Angels and wins. That would be on two days rest. Earliest he could go would be game 2 on 3 days rest. But that bridge will be crossed when/if they get there.

Oh no doubt, that pitching staff was awful. They had Lieber and Brown going in games 6 and 7, now they have Pettitte and CC. Not too mention the lineup now is so deep. But it is an eerie feeling I get. And if Game 7 happens, who knows what can happen. CC can pull up lame in the 2nd inning, he could just not have it. He could pitch well and Yankee bats could get tight. Because right now, all the pressure is on the Yankees. Angels will be as loose as can be.

Absolutely. I don't think any experts were predicting either team to win in 5 games. Most said 6 or 7. Everyone knew coming in this could be an epic battle. The Angels just dusted off the Red Sox, a team who some were predicting to go to the WS. It's just the way these series unfolds though sometimes that makes it disappointing, as if it should been closed out earlier because of the opportunities that were presented. But this series was pretty much always destined for at least 6.

I admit that rally was amazing. The Angel's was better.

So...can you come up with an original insult or do you just parrot everything you hear on talk radio and have no real clue about?

How would you even know? It's not like you ever post here outside of October.

All you'd be doing is proving him right.

Phillies were irrelevant up until 2007. I've hated the Yankees since the 90's when all my friends were riding their high horse. This season also made me care not so much about the Phillies since the Mets sucked. However, I constantly had to hear about how great the Yankees were almost everyday. So I want the team I've hated for 15 years and had to hear people wax poetically about every day to lose over the one I've hated for only 3 years and tuned out this season.

Yes, he's a coach but he's called a manager.

Those two are idiots. Especially Joe since he kisses the rings.

This game tonight was just another chapter in the long nightmare that has hung over the once great Yankee franchise ever since Mariano Rivera threw that ball into Center Field in 2001. I can clearly see the Yankees blowing this series. I don't expect to ever see them win another WS. Yankees are the new Cubs.

You're just angry.

I'm sure Cubs fans would probably scream in your face just for not being able to handle a decade without winning.

I mean ****, that's nothing compared to the Cubs. Do you even know how long the Cubs haven't won one? The Cubs are still the old Cubs, there's no new one.

I think he got too greedy with AJ and wanted more out of him. I think after the base hit, he should have woken up and taken him out. Still amazed he let AJ start that inning, though. Agree with you on Guzman. He seems like dead weight, whereas with Hinske atleast we'd have a bat.

No, they're not. Yankee fans still own that title; now more than ever.
