Anybody interested in seeing this movie? I kept seeing those damn ads at the top of the board and I will probably check it out eventually, looks good. Didn't see a thread on the movie so I decided to make one... if there was one, it's outdated. :p

I'm kinda interested in it. The plot sounds like it good be a good watch. I hate Timberlake though, so if I hear it's a good movie, then and only then will I go.

I heard he was a good actor, so I am willing to judge for myself. Even though he is used a lot in the promos, I don't think the story focuses on him... I heard it was mostly about some other guys.

I'll go see it.
I like Willis and I like Timberlake.

This and Smokin' Aces are the only movies I want to see this month. And possibly Children of Men, although I might see that on DVD.

My ex girlfriend met Jesse James Hollywood. She said he was lame. Karea who is the girl in your avatar.

Haha really? She's Aishwarya Rai.

timberlake is a good actor, can't wait to see his performance in this movie.

For some reason I think this movie is going to be in the same tone as Bully.

MAYBE I'll go see it. I'll probably wait for the reviews.

I've been waiting for this film for quite some time. Definitely going next week.

Timberlake, surprisingly, is a good actor.

Initial response- might be "that guy from N-Synch?! Huh!" But, the guy can seriously act. Originally I had my doubts, but after seeing "Edison Force" (starring Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman(!))... I have faith that he'll do the role justice.

Should be a good film and it's been getting good reviews thus far...

Haven't seen anything on it. Can someone post any links to trailers/plot? :)

friend got passes for the movie, might go tonight with them

will let you know if its a stinker or not.

Hollywood was still on the run from the police when the film started production, I believe. There was also the issue of Nick Cassavetes having a lot of access to case files regarding the case.

I wanna see it. and apparently Justin Timberlake Steals the movie. he's getting great reviews left and right. Here are some.

Justin Timberlake is surprisingly good as one of the kidnappers - you already knew he was charismatic and if you've seen him on "Saturday Night Live," you knew he was exceedingly capable of comedy. But here, all buffed and tatted, he succeeds at digging deep dramatically, as well".
- CHRISTY LEMIRE - ASSOCIATED PRESS

The ensemble acting is terrific with often maligned Justin Timberlake not only holding his own, but showing strong cinematic charisma. And JT has a loose approach to acting that is very naturalistic. He was perfect. He has a film career if he wants to stop dancing.
- VICTORIA ALEXANDER - FilmsInReview.com

This is a fine, fierce dramatic performance, alive in the eyes, in the gestures that reveal a scared kid under Frankie's bravado. Timberlake walks off with the movie.
- PETER TRAVERS - ROLLING STONE

My opinion of his acting ability has changed one hundred percent. You can tell that he really absorbed himself in the part. Every subtle emotion that Frankie is going through is amazingly displayed on screen. I am no longer afraid of any other film starring Timberlake, in fact I look forward to them.
- QUINT - AIN'T IT COOL NEWS

Justin Timberlake is a complete revelation, creating a whole new career for himself as an actor.
PETE HAMMOND - MAXIM

Timberlake, whose sympathetic performance practically brings tears to
your eyes..."

CLAIRE CONNORS - BLACKBOOK

Justin was amazing.
BROOKE ANDERSON - CNN

Who knew JT could act so well. He was so believable.
YASMIN RAMOS – BET

I was Very impressed by Justin.
MTV

Alpha Dog's worth a look for the performance of Justin Timberlake
ROBERT WILONSKI - VILLAGE VOICE

But the real star of film—and this surprised me as much as it'll surprise you—is one Justin Timberlake
SCOTT MOORE - PORTLAND.COM

Mr. Timberlake holds the screen effortlessly, delivering a gestural performance.
MANOHLA DARGIS - NEW YORK TIMES

...with Justin Timberlake especially impressive as Johnny's tough-guy-with-a-heart lieutenant. Grade: B-
- M.K. Terrell - CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR

Justin Timberlake is unexpectedly likable as Johnny's easygoing sidekick
SEAN AXMAKER - SEATTLE P.I.

The singer shows some promising dramatic talent as well in the climactic scene depicting Zack's brutal murder.
ETHAN ALTER - PREMIER MAGAZINE

Justin Timberlake proves his acting chops in true-life crime story
MATT PAIS - CHICAGO TRIBUNE

There’s also a towering, groundbreaking performance by Timberlake in a role that’s a long way from *NSYNC or even his Super Bowl “wardrobe malfunction” gig with Janet Jackson. Affable and approachable, his extensively tattooed Frankie Ballenbacher is the film’s most interesting, most conflicted character.
RHODE ISALND JOURNAL

Timberlake delivers a knockout performance
COLIN COVERT - MINNESOTA STAR TRIBUNE

Also strong, perhaps surprisingly, is Justin Timberlake as Frankie. It doesn't take long for the singer to shed his reputation and do some real acting.
JAMES BERARDINELLI - REELVIEWS

Well i think we have a new Movie star in the making on our hands. Look for JT to dive into more movie roles after this.

A few more rave reviews.

But the big news here is, of course, the acting debut of pop singing star Justin Timberlake, in what is the season’s best singing-to-screen crossover this side of Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls. Timberlake is top-notch –
TELLY DAVIDSON - FILM STEW

Justin Timberlake has shown a talent for comedy in his Saturday Night Live appearances, and here he reveals impressive dramatic ability. Timberlake plays Frankie, a tattooed love boy with a decent heart and a surplus of bravado

Another great review

Cassavetes has inherited from his late father, the pioneering independent filmmaker John Cassavetes, a way with actors, and he coaxes powerful performances from his young cast, particularly Justin Timberlake as Frankie, a thug with a conscience. When Zack is put in his charge, he develops an affection for the boy and becomes his unlikely protector.

The hugely popular singer shows that he can act with the same contagious energy he brings to his music. A costume designer had an inspired idea to put him in a straw hat, so Frankie immediately stands out in the gang. Timberlake plays him as a bundle of anxiety. He never stands still, appearing at times to break into a jig. You can't take your eyes off him. It's a breakthrough performance on par with Edward Norton's in "Primal Fear."

You can't hate on Timberlake after those glowing reviews. Any attempt to do so would just reek of jealousy. That's right, I said it.
