I think it's an interesting twist! I think Ben is seriously trying to do something altruistic. It connects with Pete's whole no one dies mantra he recently went through (remember Slott likes to sprinkle things in to set up things down the line). And I mean in Ben's mind, I'm not saying what he is doing is right. Looks like Ben is trying to pull an Anakin.

I hope we can get good 'ol Ben back, possibly with his own series as another alternative to 616 Spidey. Spider-Man Renew Your Vows is a great alternative already but it doesn't hurt to have a few, ya know?

I reread my collection of Clone Saga issues, they, like a lot of comics of the '90s, were pretty crazy but fun and definitely made Reilly a great character.

It might have been better to have made Dr. Octopus the mastermind as he was resurrected soon after anyway. An offbeat choice like the Kingpin or Alistair Smythe or maybe even Mysterio could have also worked although the Green Goblin is one of the best villains so resurrecting him isn't the worst idea (especially as Harry stayed dead at least for a while after).

I really hope so and that idea makes sense, too.

[BLACKOUT]Miles has always been in love with Gwen but she never even really noticed him outside of being her professor so when he gets the opportunity to make her again, he uses a Peter clone (in this case Ben) to get the desired effect he wants. Now we'll have more Freaky Friday shenanigans.[/BLACKOUT]
