Umm..people can change opinions on movies all 'the time, positively or negatively. its a part if life. As you grow older your taste might change because as a kid you MAY not fully process certain movies at a developmental stage. Of course people are different so it's hard to generalize too much but you get what I mean.

I know my kids.

I wonder if the movie will have any hints to the Manhunters? And since Amanda Waller's involved, references to Checkmate and the Suicide Squad?

Umm.. okay dnno, you're not getting it and I don't have a clue why. I'm not insulting your kids or anything. Just pointing something out that everyone goes through. If you're that steadfast and defensive about it then I'm just gonna drop it.

Secondly that was a typo so check out the newly corrected version.

I never hear studio heads besides Feige be vocal about anything. Did it always go over my head or something?

As far as I know Marvel is the only studio where one of there execs is more than happy to hype up their films. I'd actually be more worried if WB execs were coming out and saying the film is awesome.

And I am indirectly telling you (in a nice way) that you don't know my kids.

dnno I'm not here to get personal. Just here to talk about funny books/

i can not respect a studio who's main and only interest is to connect characters in the same universum.when they will start focusing on seperate movies then we can talk .right now they are kids playing with toys.

IM 2 made money. but it didnt make enough money based on how big IM 2008 was. Hulk was underperforming. Marvel is cheap as cheap as it can be.

we always complain about WB because the color of the boots and cape is not correct. with Marvel its all faihful. but WB at least pays money for big budget movies. GL is very expensive. its a huge risk for WB.
sorry but other comicbook movies from this and last year looked cheap . but the ticket price is always the same. so WB deserves respect.
I dont think that Marvel's only goal is to unite the universes and create the Avengers. After all, its just one movie. Why would they sacrifice the rest of them just for that? I think they re trying to have their cake and eat it too, in other words make seperate movies and also unite them for the Avengers.

At the end of the day i dont think that Shield and Hawkeye hurt Thor and its not Shield's or Widow's fault that Ironman 2 kinda sucked. It was the bad handling of the subplots, the short fights, the deus ex machina injection he got, the disappearence of the villains and their threat during the middle of the movie and all that. The simplest explanation would be that people didnt really care for RDJ and his suits anymore. I mean ROTF was ****, but tons of people still went to see it.

Thor managed to juggle everything much better, but lets be honest, it had a simpler plot.

Personally i'd love a Justice League movie and therefore i appreciate Marvel taking the risky approach to make the Avengers, but that's just me.

I would too, but I'm liking seeing each hero in their own universe right now, as I think it allows for the mythos of each to be explored better.

The Manhunters are supposed to be the villains of Green Lantern 2 alongside the Star Sapphire, so I think we'll get at least a few hints.

As for Checkmate and the Suicide Squad, Amanda Waller's blog identifies her as writing from the Belle Reve Penitentiary in Louisiana. Also, in one of her recent posts, she mentions Ted Knight, the first Starman.

Where did you hear that about Green Lantern 2?

From that guy who leaked the concept art and story details.

Went to see Thor again in 3D at my local theater. They played the new GL trailer. I was happy. :D

I really hope there is truth to this from the guy you heard it from. It seems like the natural place to go next after having Parallax in this one.

I am noticing a lot of Green Lantern TV spots lately which is great. I was worried WB wouldn't push this one out enough but already it seems like they are really invested in getting this out to peoples attention.

Saw Thor this morning, 2D version. Really enjoyed it, maybe my favorite film of any Marvel character yet. Unfortunately there was no Green Lantern trailer and I was a bit bummed out as that was another part of my excitement in seeing the film this morning.

"4-6 weeks ago was when the screenings took place.

The reasons was for people not like it was:

1.- Comedy was lame.
2.- Who is really the super hero being that there are lots of them? Apparently people didn't like that there are GLs all over the universe.
3.- GL's ring got gimmicky after a while. Someone asked afterwards "Why not just give him a green magic wand and call it a day?" and the place busted out laughing.
4.- CGI was weak. Looked like something made in the the Philippines."

Either it's fake or... Yeah, it's fake.

then again you can get a room of people who have bad taste ad have them watch the film..

One the one hand i like the seperate universes thing because each hero is explored better and the director can do his own thing with the story without caring for the shared universe. Example: Nolan's Batman doesnt fit in the JL. Someone else could have done a 1940ies take on Batman or what have you.

On the other hand the shared universe allows us to have the all out superhero explosion that are the Avengers, the JL, etc. Also, it makes it easier to use other heroes in the stories because its no longer "what if some dude decided to dress like a bat in the real world". Its a superhero world, you can do whatever you like. I mean, i doubt they would have used Black Widow if it wasnt for the Avengers, and i loved her. In a DC movieverse a Batman movie could have Huntress, the Question or whoever, because its not a confined Batman universe anymore.

I'd also love to see more characters in the movies, even if its just a cameo (non forced of course). Instead of Mike Engel Nolan could have used Jack Ryder (the Creeper), instead of random psychiatrist number 3, it can be Harley Quinzel, and so on.

Just open the gates and embrace it. But the thing is that the general audience only knows superheroes from the movies and a full out superhero explosion seems... too colourful. That's why Marvel is using the cameos to smooth the transition to a movie about 8 heroes and make it seem natural. It might not be 100% smooth, but its working. Each hero deals with his own issues while a secret agency is keeping tabs and a Viking god is planning to blow **** up. It will all comes to a head in the Avengers. Its fantastic.

I thought Sinestro was gonna be the villain of the sequel but i guess they dont want to overdo it with the yellow entity and corps.

I'm not too worried about any of that. Sure, the comedy might be lame, but these are clearly people who don't understand GL.

Too many Lanterns? Gimmicky ring? WTH...

Also, since it was 4-6 weeks ago, wouldn't that mean the CGI wasn't finished?

I think Sinestro and the Corps. would be part 3. Manhunters, being the responsibility of the Guardians, could be a domino that sets into motion the chain of events that causes the rift between Sinestro and The Guardians.

Also, Brad Dourif for the voice of Arkillo.

Makes a lot of sense, but Star Sapphire? What is up with that? Out of all the rainbow lanterns they are the worst in my opinion and i dont see how they could fit here.

A good point. I mean, I can easily see Green Lantern and Superman existing in the same movie universe with very little problems. They would definitely have to reboot Batman to justify how he's able to hang with these guys

I imagine Sinestro would be the Harvey Dent of the sequel in that we'd see his fall to evil while Hal & the Corps deal with the Manhunters and Star Sapphire. By the end of the movie, Sinestro is full on rogue or is already rogue and went head to head with Hal.

Then in the third movie, Green Lanterns versus the Sinestro Corps. Well at least in my dream. :awesome:

The Star Sapphire, not the Star Sapphire Corps. It'll just be Carol Ferris infected by the Zamaron Crystal.
