Really? haha well that guy is an idiot then.

But what I mean is, in LOTR the ring isn't used in battle scenes, it isn't the weapon. The ring is there to be destroyed, basically. If Frodo started shooting Orcs with a laser from the ring, or started forming constructs from his imagination with the ring, you could compare them.

That's true, but remember, Sauron is nearly all-powerful when he has the ring. If he hadn't been separated from it by a fluke, he would have overrun and probably destroyed the world. So while it might not shoot energy blasts or create constructs, it's still a powerful weapon.

And I could understand people being skeptical about GL if they found the constructs to be silly. To me, that was always the biggest risk in a GL film: can they make them look cool and not stupid? Sometimes they are flat-out ridiculous in the comics (giant boxing gloves, etc.). If you can make that work (and from what we've seen of the film, it looks like they have) then it's all good. Complaining because the power source is a ring is pretty stupid, IMO. It's not like he throws the ring at people to fight them, lol.

Does this mean that SAAD is a Transformers plant trying to spread misinformation about Green Lantern?

I think SAAD should have the first opportunity to respond to this question.

To be fair, the mask could gave been practical and then CGi enhanced.

I'm a bit confused as to why people are being so hard on the CGI in this movie. I would understand it if they were this discriminating over CGI in everything, but people seem to be selective as to the films where they let this type of thing bother them. And honestly... bad CGI doesn't ruin a movie. Most of the CGI in Thor was good, but it was really bad in the opening sequence. It didn't ruin the movie. The CGI in EVERY Harry Potter movie is average at best, and no one ever complains about that. There were even a few scenes in Avatar that didn't look perfect, and so what? The movie was still a visual spectacle.

So if some things in Green Lantern don't look 100% real, I can deal with it.

I'm not a plant!!!! I'm barely looking forward to Transformers 3.

saw Thor with my family today

Cap America, Super 8, three musketeers, Conan barbarian, Green Lantern, and Cowboys and Aliens were attached

I did some research and found out a few things about trailers in movie theaters. Usually as many as 6 trailers are featured before a film is aired. The studio of the feature film normally has the rights to two slots out of the six while the remaining four slots are selected by the theater chain (through consultation between the theater execs and the higher ups from the various studios). Theater chains generally use a quadrant system to decide which blend of trailers should air before a particular film. The quadrants are typically broken up into the following demographics: men under 25, women under 25, men over 25, women over 25. Based on the type of demographic that frequents the theater as well as the ones that watch a particular type of film, the theater chain may select a suitable medley of trailers. Some theaters may disregard quadrants altogether if there is some other factor that may tie movies together. For example, you wouldn’t air a 3D trailer at a 2D movie. Based on what I have just said, it would make sense initially to air the films you listed together since they share the same genre and more than likely the folks who would go to see Thor would probably go to see those pictures in the future. What my brothers saw at the Edwards Cinema (in IMAX 3D) at the Long Beach Town Center with 'Thor" 3D was the two Marvel/Disney films "Captain America" (2D only), "Cars 2" - 3D, "Super 8" (the IMAX experience), "Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows Part 2" 3D, Pirates of the "Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" 3D, and "Green Lantern" 3D. For those of you who did not get to see Green Lantern aired with "Thor" it is more than likely that your local theater chose not to air it and put up some other film instead. That's their discretion.

All I know is, every single time I go to see a movie, no matter WHERE THE F**K I GO, they will NEVER, EVER play the trailer I really want to see. I swear to you, every single time there is a big trailer premiere that is attached to some big movie, it's never attached to the copy I go and see.

CG is only gonna become an issue if the story isn't strong, if the story is good the CG becomes secondary.

I resized the new banner for a widescreen background.

Man, they used a few too many repetitions of characters (mainly Stel) on that banner; kind of ruins it for me a bit :csad:

Still awesome nonetheless. Maybe someone can photoshop it to darker silhouettes or other characters.

I don't see those repeated characters.

Great banner, would have been better if they used different characters for the back.

You wanted to see the "X-Men: First Class" trailer this weekend?

How did you get that out of what he said?

I don't really know. That's why it was a question. The only film that we have been discussing that hasn't bee in a list of trailers aired this weekend is XMFC and I wanted to know if that was one of the films he is upset about.
