Comics Official JEAN GREY/PHOENIX Discussion Thread

I dont think so bc the white costume represents as Phoenix to her full potential. Its only made a handful of appearances and thats makes it that more special
Eh. She could come back in it completely Phoenixless. She doesn't have to be Phoenix to actually wear it. I just prefer the Phoenix costumes to anything she's worn elsewise.

Angel I can go for but I cant ever see her with Beast or Bobby. She always had more of a motherly type relationship with Bobby and it would be weird to see that line crossed as it would with Beast. She and Warren have some history so it wouldnt be out of the blue for them

What's Jean's opinion again on Warren's stint as a craddle-robber?? :D

She can but IMO, the costume would lose its value that it symbolizes. Its the reason why she's never worn her red Phoenix costume regularly, bc it symbolizes soemthing.

Warren wasnt a cradle robber. Paige was legal at 19...lol

Cradle robbing doesn't necessarily mean the younger party is jailbait. :cwink:
The age difference was what like 12 years. I hated the couple but age wasnt a factor in that. And what business would it have been of Jean's any way? I dont think she would have cared one way or the other as long as Warren was happy

We were talking about a possible Jean/Warren pairing.

That's kind of an excuse to care. :oldrazz:

Not necessarily a really good/sensible one, but still...

Let's just say I doubt Emma would've ever been interested in Cyke if he'd been dating KITTY just before. Just saying. :cwink:

I wonder if the powers that be are pressured NOT to bring her back because of the backlash they would get from the "death should mean something in comics" fans....

I like Jean and all, but I really hope that is the reason she isn't back. It seems that no one sees that point, Death Should Mean Something... I really hope they start to utilize that more.

I dont think so bc out of any character, Jean is the one that that rule really doesnt seem to have meaning being the Phoenix which is known for rising from the ashes. I mean since she died they resurrected and brought back Psylocke and Colossus full time and their deaths seem pretty permanent compared to Jeans

Everyone KNOWS she'll be back eventually. That's why her deaths are meaningless.

Damn near every comic character's "death" is meaningless... Because almost none of them stay dead for long. Jean just happens to have died more often than others.

Funniest thing is, it only amounts to ONE time more than Cyke, Pete, Betsy and quite a few others.

I'm talking real deaths here, not Endsong. :p

WEll Jean's dead is even more meaningless than the other deaths then... :p

Well, Jean's deaths normally do result in something major happening in the X-Verse, so they're not as meaningless as most.

When did Summers die??? When was the joyful event that I missed? Because he didn't die in the whole Twelve story, and he wasn't one of the X-Men who sacrificied his life in Fall of the Mutants... so... when did he die??

*sigh*

I know he didnt' actually *die*, but being "MIA/possessed/dead to the world" initially qualified.

Scott didnt exactly die, but he was considered dead by everyone in the books with the exception of Jean

so it doesn't count as a death... Ororo was thought dead to Xavier/Beast/Jean once and I don't count it as a death. Just because everyone thinks someone is dead doesn't count as a death...

But he didn't just *disappear*. There was something very physical/concrete to back up said claims.

he merged with apocalypse and then dissapeared... we all knew he wasn't dead, just merged...

Yeah, but there was the odds of him never coming back from such an ordeal.

Were Apocalypse and Cyke to remain one until the end of time, Cyke would effectively be dead.

ah,but they didn't remain together, thus he wasn't dead, hus i doesn't count as a death

I *KNOW*. Him coming back kinda tipped us all off.

Still, it's about as close as it gets. Geez.

you shouldn't count it as a death then... remember that...
