I saw someone with this at Subway on Monday and man the thing looked big. Ill see if I can go to BB this weekend to try one out

They could be trying to keep a large chunk of space open to hype the new home console. If it gets introduced at E3 in June, then they would want the entire summer and lead up to the holidays to just hype it.

You had the right idea, but this was the wrong console to do it with unfortunately. By time the holidays come around, there might be a demand, but Nintendo will have a head start in the supply department.

i bought it at amazon, but they charge me for the return label......yes...... i'm that cheap

I don´t believe there will be a new home console this year from Nintendo. The reason is just one, they already released the new gen portable this year, to release a next gen console would be to go against themselves.
They will not want to have the Wii2 and the 3DS to fight each other over the holiday sales.
IMO, there is 80% of chances of a no show of the Wii2, and if it gets announced on E3 (might happen) it will be released before holiday 2012 (Nintendo will not announce a console 1 year and a half before release, no company does that).

As for the 3DS is it any good?
Does the 3D makes you dizzy and with headaches?
I will not get one this year, hell, i might even get one this first model, maybe when a second model comes out in 2013.

For every person that said the 3D effects were great, just that many people who used mine said the 3D was wierd and they coulddn't adjust to it. The 3D effect really varies from game to game. Some look fine with it at max, but some look weird.

I'm just throwing out a hypothetical scenario. Trying to come up with a reason why Nintendo would release the 3DS so early. The software is not there and it was released in the "deadzone" time of year as far as sales are concerned. I think it is very likely that they are gearing up for a new system announcement at E3. I guess time will tell.

DS Lite wasn´t a new console, it was a new version of an already released portable.

I think they did it because Microsoft was going to release the 360.
Is the same that Sony did with the announcement of the NGP before the 3DS release.
Didn´t Sony also introduced the PS3 at E3 2005 for the same reason?
Bottom line, no company want´s to be forgotten, that´s why never believe anyone that say they will not release a new console in the next couple of years.
If Nintendo announces the Wii2, bet anything you want that MS and Sony will do it too this year.
Just look at the DSi XXL, imo, it was only released because Sony was going to release the PSP Go

Yeah, it might happen, Nintendo can announce and release it, but, i don´t believe they will, it doesn´t make business sense.
The only one i can see being announced and released is the Xbox 3.

OK, you got me there, but the point still remains, they did it with an objective in mind, because Microsoft was going to release their new one.
Like i believe that the only reason MS released the 360 just 4 years after the Xbox was because they wanted to be the first and they were expecting Nintendo´s 5 year cycle, which is the only thing that makes me wonder that the Wii 2 might be released (i still think they might break that cycle and do a NES/SNES of 6 calendar years between them, it might get announced, but it will not get released).

I think that Nintendo will announce a new console this year and release it sometime in early 2012. That way it doesn't compete with the 3DS during the holidays and it gives developers to really polish their titles in time for Holiday 2012.
