Official Spider-Man 3 Soundtrack/Music Thread!

There was no intent in portraying negative slurs in Ass Horn, It was merely a way of combining a ridiculous name with a musical theme.

I'm yet to be convinced that Young can carry the score of the film by himself, without Elfman's experience and expertise, come May 4th my decision will be made

I am currently browsing through the net trying to find as many songs as possible that could relate to SM3... I just found this one by a band, I actually, never heard of and the lyrics- just imagine the symbiote slowly taking over Peter.

THE RECIPE 10 Years

Lives swallow the infatuation
Cleverly seduced
Evil's in the stink of you
Rise and fall we decompose

Rest against the sore
Push breath and pull
Ripping out compassion
Instincts adapting
Sin sings a moan
In slides night
Unite and spread the heart apart
And smile of pain

I can't show my true embrace
Now that you're subdued
I begin to weaken you
Rise and fall we decompose

Prey on the masses
Conscience relapses
The less we think and
more we drink our actions are casual
While sin sings a moan

Lives swallow the infatuation
Cleverly seduced
Evil's in the stink of you
Rise and fall
We decompose

Distance is safer than trust
Honestly honesty's a fable in love
Calloused
Shedding skin I start to grin as malice
Becomes my fuel

I can't show my true embrace
Now that you're subdued
I begin to weaken you
Rise and fall we decompose

Shedding skin I start to grin as malice
Becomes my fuel

---------------------

Now imagine that the singer is Peter and that the person he is singing to is Uncle Ben. How he fears how Uncle Ben might view his nephew's growing darkness...

CRASH 12 Stones

As I lie tossing in my bed
Lost in my fears remembering what you said
And I try to hide the truth within
The mask of myself shows its face again
Still I lie time and time again
Will you deny me when we meet again?

And I feel like Im falling
Farther every day
But I know that youre there
Watching over me
And I feel like Im drowning
The waves crashing over me
But I know that your love
It will set me free

As I find truth where I found it times before
As I search for your hope
Im finding so much more
And I try to be more like you
And I deny myself to prove my heart is true

I hear your voice calling
The time has come for me
Inside this life Im living
Theres nothing left for me
My mind is slowly fading
So far away from me
Each time I start crawling
Youre there watching me

More to come in THIS post.

actually i was kinda let down by Elfman... the spidey score sounds like he just got lazy.. and mixed his Batman score with his Men in Black score... i didn't find it all that original or impacting as it should of been

MY PERSONAL SPIDER-MAN 3 SOUNDTRACK

Don't think many will be interested, but hey- you never know... I assembled songs from in here. :cwink: And some I found, and still looking, to assemble my own Spider-Man 3 soundtrack. Dark type sounding songs, that are along the lines of the previous Spider-Man and Marvel Soundtracks:

1. FINE AGAIN: Seether

Everything will fine, even though it seems like nothing can go right. Spider-Man 3 is taking almost every character and making their life turn upside down. Peter becoming dark Peter.
Reports say that Peter is going after Gwen and leaves MJ behind.
. Green Goblin II.

2. NOT ENOUGH: Our Lady Peace

Imagine Spider-Man feeling the weight of New York City always needing him.

3. MODERN MORBID PROPHECIES: Dead Poetic.

Darkness growing in. The modern morbid prophecy, being Peter's descent into darkness especially due to the new news regarding Uncle Ben's real killer. Part of the song could also hint towards the Peter/ Gwen/ MJ triangle. "And we're just heroes, And we're just heroes.
For the day."

4. THE RECIPE: 10 Years

Peter gradually becomes darker:

"I can't show my true embrace
Now that you're subdued
I begin to weaken you
Rise and fall we decompose

Shedding skin I start to grin as malice
Becomes my fuel"

5. FOR YOU: SmileEmpty Soul

Imagine the symbiote taking over Peter. Especially his relationship with Uncle Ben.

"and pack the wound with salt i want to feel it bleed
you wanted me to crawl so now i'm on my knees

why's it always have to be me
that's always left out to burn and
i'll never learn"

6. CARDIFF: Stone Sour

Peter's continually growing darkness and the symbiote emerges:

"This fluid feels like pain
This stoic mood is all in vain
I reach into the dark
I tear the sun and me apart
How many years ago
How many deaths I can't let go
My flesh is temporary, my God extrodinary"

7. ANIMAL I HAVE BECOME:

Don't think I need to go, seems most on here agree-

8. DEAD SKIN Crossfade

Lyrics slightly altered:

The symbiote surely will do
To knock me out keep me down at least a day or two
When I'm awake I can taste how bitter I've become
And it's more than I can bear somedays I pray someone will blow me away
Make it quick but let it burn so I can feel my life fade
Well I'm a waste and I can taste how bitter I've become
And it's more than I can bear
I can't shed my skin
I can't shed my skin

Peter recognizes that the symbiote has had a negative effect on his life and just wants to get rid of the symbiote.

9. CRASH 12 Stones

A very very tragic song that focuses on the relationship between Peter and Uncle Ben. He looks to Uncle Ben to help him get out of the darkness that his life has become. Peter knows that Uncle Ben would be ashamed at what Peter has become.

"I hear your voice calling
The time has come for me
Inside this life I’m living
There’s nothing left for me
My mind is slowly fading
So far away from me
Each time I start crawling
You’re there watching me"

10. PAPER CUT Linkin Park

This is essentially one of the best songs about Green Goblin II. Read the lyrics and you'll see what I mean.

11. FALLS APART: Hurt

This song deals with life crumbling, which could reflect both Peter Parker and Eddie Brock. Listen closely, because at the beginning you can even hear the toll of the bell at the soon infamous cathedral scene!

12. ABANDON YOUR FRIENDS: Automn to Ashes

Just listen to the song and imagine everything that just happened to Eddie Broc and what's about to begin.

13. PET: Perfect Circle

Here we are at the battle royal. Of that darkness has led up to this epic conclusion.

"Lay your head down child
I won't let the boogeymen come
Count their bodies like sheep
To the rhythm of the war drums
Pay no mind to the rabble
Pay no mind to the rabble
Head down, go to sleep
To the rhythm of the war drums."

14. ALL I EVER WANTED: Train

Basically hold on, because although everything might have gone wrong things will be right again. Sums up the whole film with a strong aspect revolving around Peter and MJ.

"Two dreams collided maybe we got too excited for our own good (Two parts of Spider-Man)

No more - hold on we can make it
No more holding each other while the words all break it
Move on you know we'll be stronger in the end."

15. TROUBLE: ColdPlay

Although everything before this point evolved as the story evolved, this song fits and just has a better transition after "All I ever Wanted."

The lyrics are something you'd definitely think was in a Spider-Man movie at some point... checked and was surprised that it wasn't actually from a Spider-Man soundtrack.

And it also fits with the whole symbiote scenario as well.

Here's a part of the lyrics:

"O no, I see,
A spider web is tangled up with me,
And I lost my head,
The thought of all the stupid things I'd said."

I agree with a number of those selections, as I suggested at the beginning of the thread Dead Skin is a good song. The 30 Seconds To Mars song, do you mean 'A Modern Myth'?

SNOW PATROL RECORD MUSIC FOR SPIDER-MAN 3 SOUNDTRACK

Northern Irish rockers SNOW PATROL are hoping to expand their worldwide fanbase after recording new music for the upcoming SPIDER-MAN 3 movie soundtrack. Frontman GARY LIGHTBODY revealed the CHASING CARS hitmakers' involvement in the Hollywood blockbuster this week (begs05MAR07), and while he's not sure exactly where their track SIGNAL FIRE will be included in the film, he's delighted to be associated with the Spider-Man franchise. He says, "Signal Fire will be featured in the trailers and the movie itself. It may only appear over the end credits, but hey, it's Spidey!"

I hate indie full stop, whiny vocals grind my gears

It'll probably be like the other bands on the previous Spider-Man albums with music "inspired" by the film - the songs won't be played at ANY TIME during or after the movie, not even in the credits. It's nothing to get excited about. I'll stick with the actual score soundtrack, thank you.

There was a couple of songs on the sm:2 soundtrack that made the film, not just the credits

Is their word that their is going to be a artist soundtrack?

I can never keep track of what all the newer bands sound like nowadays so I listened to a little bit of them at Amazon.com. I'm so releaved. They're not great(most of the song samples I listened to sounded the same), but they dont annoy me at all. Nice mellow music. It's could have been a whole, whole, lot worse. I'm just happy it's not one of those bands where the singer is trying to sing like an 8 year old.

Yeah, I just listened to Snow Patrol and they don't sound that bad.

No... I got the name right.

I'm not a fan of their work ... But who knows these Guys might write a good song with good music that I'll enjoy like the song

"Hero" by Chad Kroeger in Spider-man

"Vindicated" by Dashboard Confessional in Spider-man 2

"Ordinary" by Train in Spider-man 2

That's cool. The song should be a good listen. The singles off of the other two soundtracks were great.

Since the movie is very dark, I would suggest putting something from Alice in Chains in the soundtrack-Down in a Hole maybe? I would also include Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here in there as well. I don't know much about the band that has been recording for the soundtrack, though. Hopefully it is as good as SM2's.

I thought that the soundtracks were composed of new music written for (inspired by) the film... Not old songs re-used... Maybe I'm wrong... (Only song I can think of was "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" from Spider-Man 2, but that wasn't even on the soundtrack CD, it was on the Score CD...
