Spider-Man 3 Official Thread for the Spider-Man 3 Footage on Heroes and NBC.com!

and the sad thing is.............that clip showed more action in 7 minutes than SR did in 2 1/2 hours.

Yes, a good story and drama is important......but, at the end of the day, the appeal of a SUPERHERO movie is to see a good ol' fashioned throwdown between Hero and Villain.........

Couldn't agree more.

Now, if I were to say anything negative about this scene (and trust me, I think it's absolutely awesome, so these details aren't very important to me) it is:

1.) Spider-sense...
I agree with all the other posters the mentioned that Pete's spidey-sense should've gone off before Harry picked him up off the moped.
I understand that this would sorta get in the way of the entire action sequence, but they could've easily worked around it, for instance have Peter jump out of the way the first time (with spidey-sense effect and everything), then have the moped out of control and moving/flying towards a kid (or something) while Harry makes another pass. Now Pete would have to ignore Harry's second attack in order to save whomever it may be from the moped crashing into them. A split second after the save is complete, Pete's picked up by Harry.
Spider-sense problem solved.

2.) At the point where Harry chucks away a bunch of pumpkin bomb blades (or whatever you wanna call'em) he makes a funny sound.
Yeah, that's right. I said these weren't very important details.

3.) The moment before Harry is clotheslined is too long. That is, considering the time he has to react, he should've been able to dodge that piece of webbing. Harry's surprised reaction to the webbing should've been either made shorter or cut out.

That is it.

Go back and watch it again dude. We see Pete has just decided to ask MJ to marry him -- look at his face when he's riding the scooter. He looks miles away, in a world of his own (probably thinking about how he will ask her to marry him, or could even be thinking of Uncle Ben since he has just been given Aunt May's engagement ring) . . . and then just before Harry grabs him his face changes slightly in realisation.

Suspension of disbelief is a powerful tool, but you at least need to want to believe.

Awesome, very awesome. I originally thought that Potc 3 would prolly be the B.O. champ this year, but now, after seeing that, i'm not so sure...

Yeah, his facial expression changes and right after Harry grabs him. They did not forget his spider-sense.

I get that he's "miles away", but wouldn't he also "miles away" when MJ was gonna kiss him in S-M2? It just doesn't seem very consistent to me.

But this is a pretty big problem with the spider-sense as far as movies go. Since don't get to know Pete's thoughts all of the time, it's hard for the film makers to circumvent the spider-sense, as is so often done in the comics by having Pete's thoughts explain why he didn't act on a certain warning.

Even if there was more action, SR would have still sucked because the story itself sucked and was just a mere copy of the 1st 2 films. Superman returns brought nothing new other than superman escaping the responsibility of paying child support.
action is what makes 300 milions not story.

I dont think it will sink it, but I do think its possible that SM 3 will come out on top. Their both most likely gonna do HUGE numbers, with 800 mill or more W.W. for both.
EDIT: and for the record, I dislike pirates.
sm3 is going to sink pirates

Danger Peter Parker Danger

I think his Spidey Sense did go off

I understand your point completely about how it is harder to convey in the movies -- so on occasions where it does seem like it should go off, we have to give the makers the benefit of the doubt.

No it doesn't.

Action is all well and good but the story has to be on par. There are plenty of films with insane action but their stories are worth sh-t and it shows, overll in the film's quality and at the BO.

They're not even released in the same month. They're not much compeition between Pirates and Spiderman. What Spidey has to worry about is Shrek.

HA! He still has that partially torn 'Joe's pizza' sticker on his helmet.

Spider sense did not go off here. It should have sensed Harry coming long before Harry appeared behind him. Like it did when he sensed the train tracks where gone in Spider-Man 2, or when Goblin was about to arrive in Times Square in Spider-Man 1.

Last I heard pirates 3 was being released may 25th. has it changed?

Well, thats what I meant. I'm not saying pirates will fail financially, far from it but I do think that sm3 will come out on top critically and at the BO....hopefully.

Finally I have seen it, I was waiting the entire day to do this

It was AMAZING!!!

I'm sure Spidey 3 will rule this summer!!!

:woot: kool, I hate those bloody pirates..
