[blackout]Yeah, that was all for show. But it does show how hungry GSP is going to be going into that fight.[/blackout]

Damn straight. I still don't know how Serra beat GSP with such ease, the first time.

Serra already said he wants to beat Hughes ass, so you can bet that if he loses the championship fight, theres gonna be a killer Hughes vs Serra match.

But seriously, Hughes was hurrrrrrrrrrting when he 'tapped' out. I don't think I've ever seen someone be 'verbally tapped out'. Dude was in massive pain.

LOL. He said it like three times too.

It reminded me of the days when I used to watch WWF (yes, I am ashamed to admit that fact), and Mick Foley was knocked unconscious my The Rock. Foley was supposed to have lost that match by verbally saying he quits. In the end, The Rock held a mic up to an unconscious Foley who miraculously chanted 'I quit' three times, while being unconcscious.

Underestimated Serra's willingness to stand-up and throw, was sloppy, and got caught.

He stated on many occasions that he didn't underestimate Serra's abilities. GSP did state that he had trained harder than ever for Serra, and that he was in the best shape of his career up until that point. I think it was a lucky punch by Serra, but I am no expert.

Not that he underestimated Serra's ability, but that he traded with him. It wasn't something he had planned on, he worked more on his ground skills for that fight. Which we saw last night are vastly improved.

Yeah, you are probably right.

I'd say that Anderson Silva hasn't fought a real challenge yet. But I will also say that Anderson Silva is an incredible fighter, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did fight some heavy hitters and emerged victorious.

Well, he'll get his first big test against Hendo in March. Should be a good war, but I think Dan will take him.

I thought Dan Henderson was a light heavyweight.

That will be a hell of a good fight. I'd like to see Silva win, but Hendo will probably be favored. It will certainly prove to everyone that Silva is the real deal if he beat Hendo.

Hopefully the Lightweight Champ from Pride, Takanori Gomi, will stop farting around in Japan and come to the UFC. He's fun to watch.

I see Hendo winning that fight without much effort.

Henderson/Silva? I don't know. I can't wait 'til we see this fight. Sure to be awesome.

Did anyone watch the Fedor fight on New Years?

Heard about it, not surprising, the dude he fought only has like, 2 fights on his MMA record.

Liddell/Silva fight was amazing. I'm glad Chuck got the win.

Me too. I was cheering for Silva, but I was glad Chuck won in the end. I would have hated for him to go. He's one of my all time favs.

I still wanted Wand to pull it out. Now both he and Shogun need to make a big comeback. :csad:

Yep, I was really rubbing the victories of Griffin and Liddell in my friend's face, cause he likes the Chute Boxe camp, so I was just laughing in his face.

Pride fighters are losing because in the UFC they can't get away with things that were allowed to do in Pride.

I figured Shogun not being able to stomp or use soccer kicks would hurt his game, but I don't think that was his major problem in the Griffin fight.
Rua's ****ty conditioning for that fight is what really cost him. By like a minute into the second his arms were already dropping and he was breathing through his mouth. If he had the conditioning that Wand had for his fight I think Shogun could've got a split over Forrest.

As for Wand, I know it a recent interview he said his biggest problem was Liddell's reach. And I have to agree with him. Silva will murder a man if he can get inside on them. But Chuck didn't let that happen. Liddell fought a smart fight and deserved the "W".

Then explain why Pride fighters get their asses handed to them when UFC fighters cross over to pride.

Meh, I wouldn't say all that.
Some former UFC fighters who went to PRIDE did all right, such as Barnett, Coleman, and Randleman. And there is the defeat of Gomi by Diaz in a vicious match in which Diaz outlasted Gomi and was able to get him in a gogoplata. There's also the Liddell KO of Overeem in the first round.

But you also have fighters like Tank Abbott, Mark Kerr, Pedro Rizzo, and Don Frye who have average to losing records in PRIDE since coming over from the UFC. Not to mention fights like Liddell getting destroyed by Rampage.

So to suggest that fighters coming over from the UFC automatically had it all over fighters who were already in PRIDE at the time is a bit of a stretch.
