That French guy... I forgot his name. Now, he can fight very well standing up. The more I watch K-1, the more I enjoy stand up fights.
Cheik Kongo. I find him painful to watch, when he'll light someone up standing and then look like a complete novice trying to defend a takedown or work off his back. And by defend a takedown I of course mean sprawl half-heartedly then go stiff so his opponent can slam him.
I agree but even when he was kinda sloppy that night, he still fought pretty well. The King could've had him but Bisping was just too good.
Honestly, no offense, but Bisping always looks sloppy to me. And every fight of his I've seen, he gets caught with something. He's got a ways to go yet, so there's a reason he got someone like Elvis.
I'm actually not too pleased with the Ultimate Fighter 6 plans.. love Hughes and all, and Welterweight's the best weightclass in the sport, but there's enough of a log-jam of contenders in that division, and now we're going to need to wait for a reality show to get through before Hughes gets the next title shot? It's going to be forever before guys like Koscheck can get the shots they've earned... and poor John Fitch still hasn't even been on TV. On the other hand, more positively, on that note St. Pierre is set to fight Koscheck sometime soon, Sanchez potentially fights Fitch, and Parisyan's already set to fight Burkman on the next Pay-Per-View. Still the best matchups anywhere.
Time's past by now, but I'm also excited to see Nogueira matchup with some of the heavyweight talent in the UFC soon. Opportunities had just about dried up for him in PRIDE's heavyweight division, so that's good news. Fights with Sylvia, Arlovski, Gonzaga, Couture, rematches with Crocop or Werdum, all very exciting possibilities. Funny how quickly Brandon Vera comes to look irrelevant.
