This weekend, starting Friday, is WonderCon in San Francisco, and I'm totally going! Guests I plan to be within harpooning distance of includes Bill Willingham, Darwyn Cooke, Kurt Busiek, JMS, probably Terry Dodson, and of course the DD. And more.

Anyway, it's pretty easy to get questions in during one of these panels, though not guaranteed. Got a burning question that you desperately need me to ask one of these fine people? Have a clever method for me to harass JMS about One More Day with? Poems or short stories you'd like me to read? Leave it here! I'll try to ram some in, except during the times that I'm watching the New Frontier movie and you're not, or if I get arrested. Whichever comes first.

Man I was going to go but i just don't have the money to fly in and staying in a hotel would have cost to much, im jealous you get to see the film will you write a review?

Oh, definitely. If only to mock David Boreanaz as Hal Jordan.

Dude come on, Boreanaz is a ,can I say, good actor. He was awesome as ANgel and i think he will make Hal fun to listen too considering I will just be happy to hear a white voice behind a GL. Plus i thought you were a huge fan of Whedon, Angel is a creation of him and the man that played his was David, shouldnt that excite you? I also just recently purchased Titan A.E. did youknow Whedon was a screenwriter on that?

It's been a while since I played Kingdom Hearts, but I don't remember him sucking as the voice of Squall.

Anyway, I might head over to WonderCon on Saturday. It's just a BART train ride and a brisk walk away, apparently. I'd have no idea what to expect, though. It'd be my first ever comic convention (and my first fan-based convention since Fanime 2003).

People always say there gonna do this or that to people at Cons and then you hear nothing most of the time. In fact, looking at some of them, it seems they kiss there ass and when they tried to be critical there as timid as churchmouse.

Do something!

I actually yelled to Sean Aston at a convention on a dare:

"DUDE! I LOVED YOU IN WILLOW!!!"

I would ask how, but I blame that damn super speed formula in your title...

For some unknown reason PlayUsa.com shipped it a lot earlier than it was due to be out.

Well then you are just one lucky duck then Yenaled.

Ask him why nobody in their offices seemed to notice why Mongul had one too many fingers in that promotional image for Final Crisis. As it's one of their ads to attract interest in their main upcoming event, shouldn't they have paid extra attention to make sure it was perfect? Or maybe Mongul's supposed to have five fingers as some sort of plot twist, like he was standing too close to a microwave and was mutated.

Here's a question about OMD:
"Now, it's clear to all of us that superhero marriages have never made sense. Clark Kent and Lois Lane barely outlasted Britney Spears' first marriage. Barry Allen and Iris West were one big trainwreck. The marriage of Wesley Dodds and Dian Belmont was atrociously vile. Reed Richards and Sue Storm have been divorced for decades.

So obviously, the superhero marriage doesn't work, and you must be applauded for doing away with one of the worst ones, Peter Parker and Mary-Jane.

But seriously, mother****er, couldn't they have just gotten a divorce?"

Not to be predictable, but it really kinda is. I mean, that just nakedly, shamelessly reveals the real reason people didn't like John Stewart on JLU. And of course, that was always transparently obvious, but it's a bit shocking to see it so freely admitted.

T-minus 10 minutes and counting to the That's Racist .jpg.

Ask Dan Didio who lives on the new Earth-1.

No, New Earth and Earth 1 are separate. There's New Earth, and Earth-1 to Earth-51.

And presumably, there's still the old anti-matter universe, which is separate from the Crime Syndicate universe shown in the multiverse.

You know, that right there...
I wrote a paper for my english class earlier this year explaining why only intelligent people can read and understand comics.

No other fan base (except Trekkies and StarWars fans maybe) is expected to know and understand all this JUST TO ENJOY THE MATERIAL!

well, Anyone can enjoy star wars movies, just as anyone could enjoy LOTR movies. but when you get into EU or tolkien's crazy ass world is when it gets confsuing. I myself like the star trek movies without watching any of the series. it all depends on how deep you want to go.

I was under the assumption it went New Earth, Earth 2, thru Earth 52.

Back! Pretty, uneventful, really.

Skipped Willingham's panel 'cause I got up too late and just couldn't bring myself to care. I'll see him tomorrow anyway.

Sat in on Busiek's panel, where basically all they talked about was Astro City, which I couldn't understand but probably just spoiled for myself.

Set in on Terry Dodson's panel, where Aaron Lopresti blabbed about him for like 45 minutes. I asked some generic question about the design process for stuff like Donna Troy's armor. He said that ideas like that and for Hippolyta's outfits are stuff that he would've liked to see Diana wear, but since DC wanted to keep the general WW costume scheme, he instead substituted them onto other characters.

Went in for half of JMS' "Writing School" stuff, and everyone was so very academic and asking Serious Academic Questions about writing and stuff and I felt too embarrassed and lame to get in a dig about She-Loki like I had planned:o. Ah, well. He's there again tomorrow.

Went to half of Darwyn Cooke's panel, where the subject was New Frontier and Spirit and Batman and the like. Fun to listen to, but nothing we haven't heard before.

Then it was the DC Nation panel. It was a little more subdued than last year, or maybe it only seemed so because it was like five in the afternoon. James Robinson was there to answer some questions about upcoming Superman. I only got one chance for a question, during which I used to lament the loss of Rucka from Checkmate in a...somewhat rambling prose to DiDio, ending in "and it makes me so very sad," to which he said "We're very sad, too." He did give the impression that they have some ongoing plans for the title and that there are no plans to cancel it...for now.

That was pretty much it. Well, I went to the WANTED panel and they had a really fcking cool clip to show. And then Brendan Fraser was there to pimp his 3D Journey to the Center of the Earth movie and he was fcking stoned. Seriously. People were muttering "So what do you think he was on?" after he left.
