Ok theory on this possible "youth" driven JL cast...

If you truly believed Welling was going to be cast, you must of had your head in the sand.

I'm telling you this right now......getting a 3rd actor besides Routh and Welling to play Superman is IDIOTIC!

Only exception would be if the story and script called for an older wiser Superman in his late 30's early 40's.

This film has all the signs of not being very good....

If you don't see that....then your head is in the sand.....

No, casting Welling as Superman is idiotic. The man just isn't Clark Kent, much less Superman, and not one performance in Smallville has convinced me otherwise.

Routh being Superman in this would be fine with me, but we're not getting that. And how anyone else, at this point, would be 'idiotic' in a role no one's even performed yet is pretty hard to concieve.

Nah....WB's looks to have dropped the ball on this one....

Plus no Bale as Batman is freakin even more moronic....

I'd rather have a 3rd actor than Welling, but I think I'd prefer a JLA movie after a second Bats and a second Supes movie.

I, personally, dont see the issue with casting different actors as Clark/Bruce...It's like in the comics, different artists draw the same characters in different ways, but as long as they (along with the writers) get it 'right' - i don't see any issue with it. Just think of George Millar as the artist - his Batman may look diferent to Nolans, but as long as he (and who ever gets to play him) gets him right, i wont be complaining. But i think completley seperating the franchises (Superman, Batman, JLA) is missing a golden oppertunity, and is only gonna lead to whole lot of confusion, especially for exsisting fans of Nolans/Singers films.

And the way they're aiming to cast these young actors just doesn't make any sense to me. I always figured the JLA formed after the heroes had been established and had been doing there thing for a while - if the actor they cast to play Bruce is any younger than 30...thats when we know things are going wrong with this film.

When this movie comes on, there will be no current Superman. (Smallville will be done, and MOS will probably never get made). Where as Bales Batman is currently going with a 3rd movie....

Yes because an interesting story and a great director is obviously an omen for doom and gloom?

Bale is not Batman. Yes, he does a great interpretation - but he is not the only man that can wear the cape and cowl.

People need to get over their idiotic irrational fan boy horses and look at rationally.

Of course people in hell also need water - they are far more likely to get it than the latter.

Doesn't mean the script is any good.

I've heard a few quotes from people who have apparently read it - they praised it.

Though no, it doesn't necessarily mean the script is bad - the story its based off of (the only thing we know fully at this point) is good.

Well...I guess it's time for me to get on the "I don't know what the hell I'm going to do, so I'll just sit around until 2009 comes around and give this flick a shot" bandwagon.

I'm not goig to judge this film until I hear some confirmed casting, pics, and a trailer? But I'm still going to have to see the movie to fully criticize it.

The article which gave the script high praise was from EW, a Time Warner owned company...... slightly suspicious don't you think?

I highly doubt Batman will get to a third movie, or at least a third Nolan/Bale Batman movie. This JL movie will have an enormous impact on that franchise. Nolan will walk and be replaced by a "Ratner" and WB won't want to deal with an unhappy Bale so he will just be let out of his contract and replaced by the JL Batman. For better or worse, JL has already killed Singer/Routh's Superman, Nolan's is next. If WB really cared about those franchises they would have waited to release JL.

i wish everyone would follow your excellent exapmple before they freak out and start hyperventilating :whatever:

also, most of these actors look "slightly teenagerish" because they have young and contemporary clothes/haircuts. im sure once they have the costumes and the right posture they'll look years older and more mature. hair, make-up and clothes make A LOT of difference.

Don't forget going to the gym and getting in shape, Some of the people who auditioned are very skinny

Very well said. This, ladies and gentlemen, is distilled fanboy brilliance.

exactly ^^^ (i almost posted 666 lol)

I guess we should also discredit their opinions on Batman Begins, because we all know they only liked it because it was from the same company.

Seriously, it can go either way at this point.

Sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is incorrect.

Plus, I believe I had read another quote - similar sounding - but not from EW.

I could be wrong though.

If the article was from a publication with no affiliation with Warner I would pay more attention to it. I have real problems with a subsidiary praising something from a parent company.

And yes it can go either way.
