OMG! My sister in law asked my parents for $5000 ( and they just got $20, 000 inherit

A few months ago, my mom received $100,000 from a will. She gave $20,000 to my brothers family & $20,000 to myself. I used some of it to make a lump sum payment on my mortage. I also purchased new eyeware, the frames are hand made fron France ( Alan Milki), and some other things. I still have about almost half of the original $20,000.

Now my sister in law took a trip to disneyland with her family & brought gifts for her entire office she werks at & all her family. They also took a summer vacation & got a custom made urn for their cat that died. I am pretty sure they blew the entire $20,000. I doubt they made a lump sum payment on their mortage or on their big ass SUV.

Today, my mom called me & told me that my sister in law came by & asked her for $5000. When my mom said nothing, she went to my dad. My parents did not give in.

I told my mom to tell them to go get a line of credit at prime plus whatever like everyone else. The kicker is that my parents just took out my sister in law & her entire family to a really nice brunch yesterday as part of their anniverssary.

WTF????:wow::huh:

How can you go ask someone for $5000 after that & after receiving $20,000 ?

This is not the 1st time this has happened. My sister in law used my parents as a sort of free day care service for their 2 kids for the past 10 years. She also asked my parents for $10,000 for all new furniture when they purchased their house 16 years ago, which my parents said NO! And the really goofy part is my sister in law ONLY FREAKIN WORKS PART TIME!!!!!!:cmad:
you're in love with your brother's wife....

:(

My wifes grandmother died recently. My wifes dad lives with me and will get 1/3 of the entire estate (he has two brothers, so they simply split it...)

She talked to her dad, and he said he was going to give us like 25 grand towards a new house, but she stated, that would clear up ALL our debt, and that would be a NICE thing to have...no debt other than a mortgage.

This could be a nice development.

pretty much sums up your enitre situation
ah, no. I did not piss my windfall away. And my parents DID NOT give my sister in law the $5000 she asked for. I told them to tell her that she can go ask her own mother for that money or ask 1 of her 2 brothers. If that fails, go get a line of credit at prime + 1 % or whatever it is, and make payments.

Actually I was comparing you to the brother that worked while she is that fat one that wastes all her money

I can't believe how Deathlok just pissed his windfall away. So wasteful.

jag

I cant read this, wait let me get my $650 handmade glasses.

Ah, there we go. What wasteful spending Deathlok has made.

I am STILL waiting to hear how my $650 pair of glasses are wasteful while comic books & everything that goes with them ( tee shirts, action figures, posters, oversized absolute editions, etc) are not.

Please explain.

I was in need of a new pair of glasses.

Comic books cost three bucks, there is no cheap alternative, $650 is lavish for a pair of glasses when you could get a perfectly adequate pair for about $100

You do not NEED to purchase comic books. You can live prefectly fine without them.

NO, you are incorrect! frames alone would be $100, the lens would cost $300, so $400 would be the cheapest.

you don't need glasses, the only difference would be you'd bump into more stuff

BUt comic books are NOT essential to life. YOU STILL have not explained how a $3 comic is not wasteful. Muliple that by each title purchased per month & the cost starts to add up.

Your statement does NOT make any sense! Comic books are more wasteful than my glasses simply because I use my glasses everyday. Comic books = read it & forget it.

yes but think how many comics you could buy for $650 :wow:

if you take that $650 & divide it by 52 weeks, that works out to be $12.50 per week. The large majority of comic readers that have files in a comic store spend a considerable amount over that figure in 1 year.

SO again, you make NO sense. Thats not even factoring in boards, bags & storage boxes.:wow:

so's eating, you eat food and 12 hours later you **** it out again. How wasteful is that, at least I get to keep my comics

Dudette, really I got my frames and lenses at Lenscrafter for $129, plus I got a free eyeglass repair kit and some cleaning product. $650 is wasteful spending on something that without a doubt, youll have to replace 5-10 years from now.

Now about comics. Comics are a hobby, so in reality, we dont have to buy comic books. You need glasses to see, but you chose an excessive route to go with it when you couldve bought about 3 pairs of glasses for the price of one. And nobody is going to give a **** if youre glasses are handmade. The argument of that you needed $650 glasses and that its no different than people spending more on comics is really unjustified and irrelevant at the end of the day.

If I was to recieve the amount of money you did, id stretch that money out as long as i could, spending more than $250 on glasses should be a federal crime.

Deathlok is such a jackass... it's mind numbing to read some of his posts sometimes. He acts like a four year old.

Dude, $650 was the reduced rate! They are over $800! It was a good deal & well worth it. You can keep your ****ty lenscrafter ( we make them in 1 hour & we dont care how crappy & rushed the workmanship is) glasses.
