The Dark Knight On This Day One Year Ago...

I watched the bootleg a bunch of times, completely blown away by it. Then I went to see the Prologue in IMAX with I Am Legend. Before seeing the Prologue, I snuck into a normal showing of I Am Legend to see the trailer in all its glory. I didn't even bother staying to watch I Am Legend after the Prologue finished. The other people were staring at me like "what the hell is wrong with him?" when I got up and left as soon as the Prologue ended. LOL.

That TDK trailer is one of the best ever, no doubt about it. The hype was off the charts as soon as that thing was released. I have it on my PS3 along with the teaser and Trailer 3, all in 1080p high def and I actually watch them on a pretty regular basis. LOL.

I do agree TDK's December trailer, was the best trailer I've ever seen. I remember some still complaining, but it was amazing. Even the bootleg I watched like 5000 times. Incredible.

I remember I was one of the first people to click that link to the YouTube bootleg on IMDb late Thursday night a year ago. The guy made a post saying he'd have it up in an hour, and nobody believed him, but I stuck around the thread just in case. He posted the trailer, and, boy, he was a God among men on IMDb...for about fifteen minutes.

...I honestly can't remember. I know I liked it though.

I stayed up until the wee small hours of the morning waiting for it to come on-line. And it was sooooooooo worth the wait. I remember watching it about a dozen times before taking me weary body to bed.

Only other time I did that for a movie trailer was for Spider-Man 2.

I had to get sneak into Legend to watch the trailer at 12:01. God, I remember the excitement like it was yesterday. That trailer is still the most amazing trailer I've ever seen!

I was actually talking to my roommate about this anniversary. I remember it was the last day of my exams for that semester, and we both had an exam at 3. After we got out we went straight to the theatre. I started sweating while watching the TDK trailer it was so amazing. After we got out we wanted to see it again so we asked the manager if we could just go in to see the trailer, and I told him I would leave him my wallet so that I would come out after the trailer. He said not to worry about it and let us in. We went and stood in the aisle and watched the trailer again. Im glad I restrained myself from the bootlegs, seeing it for the first time in the theatre is amazing. Great day, great memories..

Lookie what I managed to salvage! :hehe:

I remember being blown away by the SOUND, and considering it the best trailer for a Nolan movie ever. Well, at the time. I think the last theatrical trailer was better, but...anyway. :cwink:

I excitedly emailed it to a bunch of people, but even the "super-sekret" caption (Snow-king Snowblowers? :lmao: ) couldn't rescue it from the WB YouTube patrollers. :funny:

And Heath's face looks even more menacing without all of that detail in HD. His eyes are just black and empty.

I actually didn't get to see the trailer on the big screen until the TDK cinematography panel, when Wally Pfister played it for the audience since he color-timed it himself. It still gave me chills.

It took me 1 hour to get to the IMAX theater just to see the prologue, I couldn't care less about I Am Legend. To my surprise all tix were sold-out, so me and my friend setteled for a normal theater. I pinched my friend's arm as soon as the WB logo came up the screen. It was truly nerve-wracking. Of course the trailer was much better than I Am Legend.
Got home, tried to sleep, couldn't sleep thinking about the trailer, turned on my iphone and found it on the internet.

I remember this like it was yesterday. My God, was it one year ago? I came home from the showing of I Am Legend just seeing the prologue and being blown away by it. I forgot about the trailer because I was just so stunned about the prologue. The first ever moving footage I've ever seen to TDK. When I left the IMAX theater my friends and his dad asked if the guy could play it again but of course said you'd have to buy tickets again. Then I went on the computer to watch the prologue again and I noticed they had the bottleg trailer! I watched it, completey **** myself silly. I watched it a million times. Then those two days of waiting for a high def one. But it wasn't the same you know? Still the best of the TDK trailers and one of the best trailers ever.

Hahaha, at the end of that bootleg you can hear a dude going, "Whoa..." like in shock or something.

Oh man was just gonna post about that dude at the end, that was icing on the cake!

I recall in the summer trying to find THAT version of the trailer and being unable to find it, something about the bootlegged version is enjoyable. :)

EDIT: I never did see that or the teaser in theatres, sat through so many bad movies in hopes of it too (saw I Am Legend in IMAX), but caught the prologue and trailer 2 screenings so no biggy. I'm sure in the theatre my head woulda just blown up.

God, I still talk to my friend at my job about around this time last year. I remember staying up all night and then at around 1 o clock in the morning, somebody put up the bootleg trailer for the midnight I Am Legend showings. Now to this day, I still have dial up and that little two minute or so trailer took about a half hour to download but I remember almost falling out of my chair when we got our first good shot of Heath as Joker. That shot where his make up is coming off and he blinks...god...I remember my jaw dropping and getting all kinds of chills. I was a sophomore in college then and my brother was still in 10th grade in high school but I woke him up so we could watch it together. It was amazing!

Then the next day, I got up early and bought my brother and I's I Am Legend IMAX tickets. I wore the first Hot Topic Joker shirt and I remember the guy at the counter actually commented on it.

When we got our seats later that night, I saw a couple guys in Batman shirts so I knew there were at least a couple people there to see the Prologue. I remember being really nervous because I was going to be completely pissed off if our theatre for some reason ended up not showing it....but then I saw the Bat logo in between the blue flames. It was so amazing to watch the prologue in that environment...a lot of people clapped at the end of it. Plus, I remember going into I Am Legend kinda thinking it was going to suck but ended up liking it a lot.

I hadn't really been following the movie until I saw the trailer highlighted on Yahoo, and I was absolutely blown away by what I saw. It is still the best trailer I've ever seen. That trailer so grabbed my attention that I eventually sought out the Joker prologue and my fascination with TDK has never really waned since then.

This trailer was awesome because it was the first time we got to see footage of Heath's Joker in action. Up to that point, we just had still photos (all which split the fan base), set reports, and a logo teaser trailer with voice overs.

I remember watching that bootleg on youtube over and over again, and being blown away by it in theaters just before I Am Legend.

Anyone who has the mindset of "Oh Heath's Joker just gets so much praise because he died" clearly weren't here when this trailer and the prologue were released and discussed. Heath silenced quite a bit of the naysayers when this thing hit.
