The “unprecedented One Piece game” code-named “One Piece Game Dawn” and due to be revealed in the December 11 issue of Weekly Jump may be titled One Piece: World Seeker.

Gematsu discovered a test page at the URL opws.bn-ent.net, which is likely where the official website will be located when it launches. Bandai Namco has also filed trademarks for “World Seeker” in the United States, Europe, and Japan.

We will likely hear first details about One Piece Game Dawn, or One Piece: World Seeker, when information from Weekly Jump leaks later this week.

Update 12/06/17 at 12:10 a.m.: The latest issue of Weekly Jump has revealed One Piece: World Seeker for PlayStation 4. Read more here.

First look at One Piece: World Seeker [Update]
Published 4 days ago. 33 comments.
Here's the possibly open-world One Piece game.

A scan of the announcement of One Piece: World Seeker for PlayStation 4 from the latest issue of Weekly Jump has surfaced online.

According to the magazine, One Piece: World Seeker will be released for PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2018. From the wording in the magazine—such as “dramatic free field action” and “freely adventure anywhere across a ‘big, One Piece world”—it can be guessed that it is an open-world game.

Judging from the text, “a game original worldview will stimulate your curiosity,” it can be guessed that the game follows an original setting and story. We also know from the game’s initial report in July that the original author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, is cooperating on development.
Thanks, @YonkouProd.

One Piece: World Seeker features the Straw Hat Pirates
Published 11 hours ago. 25 comments.
The gang is all here.

The latest issue of Weekly Jump has new information and screenshots on the island which One Piece: World Seeker is set, and also confirms the appearance of the Straw Hat Pirates.

The island is described as a world of many cultures, where nature and science coexists. One screenshot shows a bustling town, and another shows a mine filled with crystals where there may be treasure. Luffy and the other Straw Hat Pirates visit the island together. It is said that there may be a hidden “darkness” on the seemingly tranquil island. Another screenshot shows villagers, expected to be under the control of the World Government, kindly welcome Luffy and company.

The headline screenshot shows a village rich in nature, with a man-made, robust fortress in the background. It seems to have been built by the World Government, but its purpose is unknown. Luffy will enter and explore this area.

The magazine also has a message from One Piece: World Seeker producer Koji Nakajima:
While I can’t say anything in detail yet, can you take a look at the Underwater Prison in the screenshot below? I want you to remember Impel Down, the Great Prison, but that is one of the World Government’s big three institutions like the Marine Headquarters. That means that even the Underwater Prison that appears in this game is a building under the control of the World Government! What kind of adventure will Luffy go on here!? What is going on in this prison!? Please look forward to more!!

One Piece: World Seeker is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide in 2018. In Japan, it will only be available for PlayStation 4.

One Piece: World Seeker producer discusses concept of freedom
Published 18 hours ago. 20 comments.

"Seamlessly and freely move throughout the entire map."

OPPW_02-16-18.jpg

Bandai Namco has released a short new video interview with One Piece: World Seeker producer Koji Nakajima, who discusses the game’s concept of freedom.

Here is the full transcript:
Hello everyone! I’m Koji Nakajima, Producer on One Piece games. There’s a lot to love about One Piece which we all know about! For this specific game though, we focused on creating a modern adventure. There are many action-adventure games out there already but they come with certain restrictions, such as invisible walls, for example.

One of the best parts of One Piece, is the freedom it offers. As a way of replicating this ‘freedom’ we built a game that allows the player to seamlessly and freely move throughout the entire map. The main concepts behind this game are: having fun on a One Piece adventure, a story with a plotline straight out of One Piece, and enjoy interacting with the crew. Given that Luffy is the main character in the series, we paid close attention to how we developed action sequences featuring his rubber-like movement.

Our aim is to create a truly enjoyable experience for players where they can use his unique skillset on an open map. I can say that we all really worked hard on this, on creating gameplay and storyline that really focuses on Luffy, offering action and adventure in a way that is true to him as a character. We’ve really put together a game that will be fun for everyone and I hope that you’re all excited for it. As for the game’s world map we have released some concept art already.

One Piece: World Seeker is due out worldwide for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2018. In Japan, it will only be released for PlayStation 4.

One Piece: World Seeker ‘Jail Island’ screenshots

An island with an ominous sense of danger.

OP-World-Seeker_03-19-18.jpg

Bandai Namco has released a new set of One Piece: World Seeker screenshots introducing the game’s setting of Jail Island.

Here is an overview of Jail Island, via Bandai Namco:
The Straw Hat crew arrives on Jail Island where an ominous sense of danger seems to be looming. Jail Island used to be called Jewel Island because of the value of its minerals used for technological wonders, but this blessing quickly poisoned the life of the residents … Robbers, Pirates and Invaders made it a difficult place to live.
The World Government brought back order to this Island but at what cost? A growing presence of the marine forces and a gigantic underwater installation seems to confirm that something odd is going on. A glooming shadow seems to be embracing the whole place, a dark secret that may shake the new world!

The screenshots offer a first look at the various locations within the mysterious Jail Island, as well as the Marine force, rowdy pirates, spy agency Cipher Pol, the island’s diverse cast of residents, Luffy’s special abilities, and Observation Haki and Arms Haki, which players can use to help them uncover the mysteries of Jail Island.

One Piece: World Seeker Gamescom 2018 trailer, screenshots
Published 12 hours ago. 14 comments.

Due out in 2018.
OPWS_08-21-18.jpg

Bandai Namco has released the Gamescom 2018 trailer and screenshots for open-world One Piece game One Piece: World Seeker.

Here is an overview of the trailer, via Bandai Namco:

The trailer opens with our hero Luffy, in handcuffs, being brought in front of a mysterious character sat upon a throne, high above the clouds of Prison Island on a floating fortress. But what does this character have in-store for Luffy? And more importantly, why does Luffy look so happy to be captured?
Also revealed in the trailer are three new characters Luffy will come up against.

The first, Borsalino (Kizaru), is an admiral in the marines, he is one of the strongest enemies for Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew. He possess the Glint-Glint Fruit (Pika Pika No Mi), which allows him to control and manipulate light at will and can even transform himself into light, giving him the power of teleportation. He is the faithful servant of the Marin headquarters and will happily fight Luffy whenever the opportunity arises.

Another enemy Luffy will come up against is Admiral Issho (Fujitora). Despite being blind, he is a force to be reckoned with. Despite the mystery surrounding the exact nature of his power, he seems to have the power to control gravity, being able to subdue prisoners or even redirecting a meteoroid. Fujitora is different from the other admirals, for him what’s truly important is the security and safety of the citizens of Prison Island.

Last but not least Rob Lucci is a member of the CP-0, the intelligence organisation directly controlled by the world government. He ate the Cat-Cat Fruit which allows him to transform into beast form, half-human; half-leopard. As more characters arrive in Jail Island, the mystery of why all these people are here only deepens, with rumours that Lucci himself is the warden of Prison Island itself.
