Is this the result of the newest crisis? Can someone just explain the whole scenario for me because this type of stuff always confuses me. Also is there a collection of these issues available for purchase?

Yup, it's the result of Infinite Crisis. Once the last issue of Infinite Crisis was released all of the main DC characters' titles jumped a year ahead of time.

And some titles got rebooted completely like The Flash and Wonder Woman.

The missing year is currently being recapped in the maxi-series 52. It's a weekly series that runs in real time. Like when it was July 4, that week we saw fireworks going off. And when it's winter for us in the real world it'll be winter in the book, etc. It's currently on Week 16 right now...a great series that follows a lot of second/third tier characters.

And the Infinite Crisis hardcover is supposed to be coming out in the fall sometime I believe.

ok but what was the point of this happening? What happened during the Infinite Crisis that caused this?

Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_Crisis

Then ask here if you still have any questions. You probably won't though, the story's covered pretty well. Oh, and I probably wouldn't read too much of the Synopsis if you're planning on reading the whole thing yourself, as it basically tells you the whole story.

Maybe someone else can answer this for you. I don't like giving our spoilers on things, you should probably go and pick it up for yourself to find out.

Alright thought, in terms of the Batman continuity how was Batman effected from the crisis?

Well, he (and us - the readers) found out the reason for his paranoia and general prick-ness, and now he's let that go, and has supposedly become a kinder, friendlier Batman; which really was needed.

Jason Todd's resurrection was due to the Crisis as well. Although it wasn't directly related to the story.

Is there a collection of the Infinite Crisis avaliable? If you have a link that would eb great because I'm def going to purchase this

Not quite.

There's the two parts of the Under the Hood arc which is affected by the Crisis, but doesn't cover the Crisis itself. For that, you would want...

Also recommended would be The OMAC Project. It's one of four mini-series that were sorta like a prologue to IC...

Does Identity Crisis have anything to do with it?

Yeah. Identity Crisis is what sparked Infinite Crisis in the first place. It's a good story.
