I bought it 3 years and 2 months ago to the day. Up until this point i was unaware something in a cheap plastic case could change your life so much.

It started off as something to fill the hours in the evenings, but quickly became more than that. The online world was new and exciting to me. I had never experianced this feeling from a game before. I finally felt like someone important and someone who was valued. In the real world I was nothing more than dot on the scale of mediocrity.

Soon the evenings were turning into whole days, and before I knew it was part of my daily routine. I was even playing for two hours before I brushed my teeth in the morning.

It's wierd, the other day someone asked me what my top five game are of all time. The usual suspects came up: Final fantatsy, Zelda.... but no mention of the very game I'd played more than any of them put togethor. You see I didn't see it as a "game"; it was a part of my life.

Everything else started to get blurred. My job, my friends and my family all disapearing into the background. A shadow I never looked at. A side quest that never got completed.

It's only now that I realise everything important in my life has gone. Turns out the imaginary world doesn't stop the debts from being real. They even took the god damn toaster.
My only solace now is when I sleep. At least then I can dream of a time and place were I was someone. A place were I still have my dignity. A place were i'm still... someone. A place were I dont have to wait for my meals to be delivered to me.

So which game has you addicted? I'm guessing it's WoW maybe?

I refuse to touch World of Warcraft, and ever since I dumped my FFXI subscription, I have been very skeptical of any game that charges people to play it, especially when you have to pay $50 just for the disc to play it with.
