Our Generation's Greatest Song Writter...

Paul Simon is twice the song writter [sic] than Bob Dylan ever will be.

Elton was only really any good in the late 70s/early 80s. Anything after that is far too gay.

Nick Cave would urinate on all from a great height, but seems to stay under most people's radar.

Tom Waits is another magical songsmith, but has gone a bit too odd recently.

not my generation, but burt bacharach has to be on the list of one of the greatest songwriters. he's written some timeless pieces

i cant even name one song that michael wrote

he writes most of his music, except when he was a kid.

Will Ferrell impersonating Neil Diamond on vh1 storytellers

''This...next song I wrote after I...killed a drifter to get an erection''

Billie Jean
Beat It
Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
Wanna Be Startin Somthing
Thriller
We Are The World
Bad
Smooth Criminal
The Way You Make Me Feel

wow, didn't know he wrote his own music

Man in the mirror is a great song, did he write that? I'll check when I go home.

yep.
just like Beyonce.
*puts hands over mouth to hold in laughter*
yeah... that's why her songs are so deep and introspective

lol
i think the only thing she's written so far that is worth anything is Listen.

i have to admit, i like Irreplacable as a fun song, but depth? a puddle has more depth than that song.

For me its either Michael Jackson or Tupac.

For me its... Tupac.

:woot:
somewhere in this world Beyonce's ears are burning... maybe she'll be able to write a song about it and turn it into a #1 hit single.

That new ludacris song is deep, the runaway one. wow i didnt expect that from him.

scott kelly from neurosis/blood and time/ and tribes of neurot. his solo album spirit bound flesh is amazing too. he gets my vote.

muertevilla is a great song writer :p

thanks for the myspace add btw.

Closer to my generation than Dylan:

Brent Smith of Shinedown
Corey Tayler of Slipknot and Stone Sour
Layne Staley of Alice In Chains

OF all time?

Dylan is on the list, but not first.
Clapton
Robert Johnson
George Harrison
Paul McCartney
and the greatest song writer of all time? John MOTHERF**KING Lennon.
