How about a cgi cartoon monster movie? They could have vampires, werewolves, mummys, Frankensteins, & zombies. Pixar could take all these creatures & make a fun little movie with them.

How about a real animated monster horror flick with a borderline PG-13 rating? Nah, who am I kidding. :o

Fox to Produce Live-Action/CG Alvin & The Chipmunks

September 14, 2004

Fox 2000 Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Bagdasarian Productions have announced a live-action/CGI adaptation of ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS. Fox is searching for a comedy writer and director for the film as well as a top comedian to pay the CG Chipmunks’ dad Dave Seville. Ross Bagdasarian, Jr., and Janice Karman will produce.

"I am thrilled to join Fox in turning ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS into an event 'tentpole' picture," said Bagdasarian, Jr. "ALVIN has three generations of fans, who can expect an exciting new experience in the big-screen version. The movie will merge the celebrated history and tradition of our beloved characters with a new comic sensibility and edge. This is an exciting time for The Chipmunks and this movie adds wonderfully to that excitement."

Janice Karman, president of Bagdasarian Production, added: "It's great to see the characters Ross' dad created almost 50 years ago continue to be presented in so many new ways. This movie is an exciting new adventure for the boys."

Chris Meledandri, president of Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Elizabeth Gabler, president of Fox 2000 Pictures were quoted as saying, "We are very excited to be working with Ross and Janice on the live-action feature debut of ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS. We have loved these characters since childhood and with today's advances in digital animation, the Chipmunks will be brought to life in a way never before possible."

Ross Bagdasarian, Sr. created ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS in 1958. The squeaky-voiced trio and Dave Seville made recording, broadcasting and merchandising history, selling 43 million albums (winning several Grammys in the process), starring in their own animated primetime series, numerous primetime specials and number one network Saturday Morning shows seen in more than 100 countries in 40 languages.

isn't that just a movie about a evil house. Besides dreamworks needs to start working harder on there animation all there movies are prettly below average. But Pixar yeah I would love to see a movie like that with those kinds of monsters.

^If they're all breaking 100 million at the box office, they don't need to work harder.

I'm being serious if this is real I'm excited:O

Over The Hedge actually wasn't too bad. I'll admit cgi animal movies are getting old, and there r plenty on the way. But it was entertaining.

Wasn't bad at all. Writing was actually quite clever for what is essentially a children's movie. Three out of five stars sounds fair. It was pretty funny.

I can't wait to see it. I used to read the comic strip the movie is based on and it was always clever, so I bet the movie is pretty good too.

Enough CGI cartoons!!! They're all the same! I couldn't tell a lick of difference between Madagascar and The Wild  :down

^This one is based on a clever comic strip, and the creators of the comic had input into the script, so that should differentiate it from others of its ilk.

WHOAAAAA!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!! Outstanding movie! Very funny! :D :D :D

Better than I expected. I haven't laughed that hard in a movie in a while. Wheww.... Reminds me in quality to Monters Inc.

And the story was good, well paced, well directed. It had a well developed moral. Lots of references to past cinema and culture. This was decidedly not just a hack cartoon. The William Shatner character was SHATNER to a tee! :D

Highly recommended.

This may be the first Dreamworks movie to actually rival Pixar as far as comedy/emotion mix. When Hammy says to Verne, "I'm not stupid," you seriously feel for the dude. :(

Absolutely. Hammy was excellent. He was able to emote a wide range of emotions. HA! "But I like that cookie" Hammy wanted that cookie! :D
