Dead Space coming to the screen - directed by D.J. Caruso

I hope there's not much action choreography because Eagle Eye's action scenes were wretched.

Dead Space was hands down one of the best games of last year, and that's saying something if you look at the competition. It's a shame that this guy is getting to direct the film adaptation, though. I hated Eagle Eye. :(

There isn't much of a plot to work with, however I really hope that
the atmosphere of the game is captured. I just don't want crap music
to plague the action sequences and quick camera movements that make
it painfully difficult to distinguish whats going on.

While I adore the game, do I honestly want to sit through a mish mash of all the major horror and sci-fi films of the last 30 years?

Maybe.

Caruso is very hit/miss for me. I liked Disturbia, loathed Eagle Eye. I don't really have a sense of his directorial style.

The marketing never shows Clarke out of the suit he wears during the game, but the start of the game, if you rotate the camera, you can pretty much see what he looks like. For fanboy casting purposes.

Have you ever played it all the way through....

I have never played it, period. Just watched other people play.

Certainly worth a couple playthroughs.

As long as this means that this chump is out of "Y - The last man" (which should be a TV miniseries, not a goddamned movie), I am happy.

Disturbia was ok at best, and I am still kicking myself for wasting money to see Eagle Eye, so I don't want that guy anywhere near one of the best comicbooks ever written (IMO, of course)

Shia wont be there....lol.

I loved Disturbia...enjoyed Eagle Eye...but it was too much like a Bay film. Only a Bay film should be a Bay film

Well, lets hope they capture the spirit of the game, I dont mind them playing around with plot details, the game was pretty sparse. Also, Pandorum is coming out soon, so that should give us a good idea on how a DS game can be adapted.

One of the best games I've ever played. I know they'll ruin it, but I'm still interested. :o

The story is "light" enough to be made into a film, wonder how they'll add Clarke some dialog.

The question is...
Will this be ever really made?

Never played the game but I've enjoyed 3 of Caruso's movies so I am open to seeing how this develops.

Yeah, pretty much. EA actually made an amazing game. I still have yet to finish it though.
