Peacock TV

So do we get all of the Peacock Original shows for free as well or is that for paid subscription only?

I think you can but there will be a sh*tload of ads.

Also apparently you can't get it on Firestick and Roku but there is a workaround...

watching Warehouse 13 on it

Streaming is getting out of control...not only do we have all of these competitors but now they are also in conflict with who carries them?

I have no interest in yet another streaming app demanding more money than it is worth. Which at this point is any service that wants more than $2 a month.

We're basically back to the cable model again.

I could see getting the paid version if they had every season of SNL and Late Night. Don't really care. as much about Leno's Tonight Show so if we can never get Conan's Tonight Show on there so be it. O'Brien's NBC work is just not available anywhere on the internet really. That's worth the money to me. I'd also like all the Letterman shows but the Conan Era would be worth a subscription. I can live without seeing this Saved by the Bell sequel series but the preservation of Conan O'Brien's legacy in television is worth more than that subscription fee.

Brave New World is like the only thing I'm watching

So I downloaded Peacock for free and I get to premiere the first episode of each series for free but I have to pay to watch the second episode. I do hope the second episodes of the show will be available eventually.

Why did they call it Peacock? :csad:

I completely forgot that there was a Beethoven animated series.

Because long before it became the NBC official logo it been identified with NBC to advertise they had color TV. Of the original Big 3 broadcasters ABC never caught up in the branding wars versus the peacock and the eyeball.

Peacock is also absorbing the WWE Network in the U.S. starting on I think March 16th.

I feel like they could be doing a lot better. They have rights to the Real Housewives franchises and still havent put all of them on there or international versions.

They need more interesting original programming.

They got Charmed in HD but not the rights to the original music which is a bummer.

Yeah That's what I was trying to post when I said "This is a good deal for them too" but for some reason Bleacher Report links are weird on this site

I mean it just launched less than a year ago. There are still old deals with like Hulu in place.

EDIT: And this just happened too 'Modern Family' All Seasons Streaming on Hulu, Peacock in Shared Deal - Variety

Yeah when I made my post I didn't see anything then just know I was like wait how did I miss that. They'll gain 1 million plus subscribers as long as a ton of people don't cancel and I'm sure that has to be a good thing to say.

Except the Housewife franchises that they dont have on there arent even on Hulu. They are just choosing to ignore them.
And there might be a reason for that. We don't know and again it's only like 6 months since launch they could be working on it. You don't know what deals they have in place.

Not everything is or can be Disney and not everything is gonna launch with every single thing they ever produced. That doesn't mean it's bad or it's gonna fail.

I never said it was bad or it would fail. I said it could do a lot better which they could. When you launch you want to get as much people as possible and especially when its content that you own, if you have it and it isnt on anything else you should put it out there. Which they own HWs and no way that the two franchises that got canceled are the only two that have any type of problems in getting them to streaming.

My Xfinity Internet service recently informed me that I could access Peacock Premium for free, so I signed up.

Have to say that I definitely wouldn't have paid for this service separately. There's not enough compelling content on it to justify paying for. But since it was free for me as a bonus on top of my Xfinity Internet, there's enough content that I'll definitely watch something on it from time to time. I appreciate that there are some "older" TV series on it too, some of which I didn't consistently watch back in the day. For instance, Cheers and Columbo which I didn't regularly watch as a kid (but was aware of). I've never seen the original 21 Jump Street or Battlestar Galactica which are on there too. And it'll be nice to re-watch SeaQuest DSV, George Lopez, and the original Saved By The Bell. Even better there are some movies I've never seen released by Universal (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Cape Fear, Born on the 4th of July).

Overall, I like having the free access to Peacock TV, a lot of stuff there I'll watch. But wouldn't pay extra for it, especially since my Xfinity Internet is already expensive as it is. Unfortunately it's the cheapest best ISP in my area. There's a cheaper ISP in my area by $5/mo but their bandwidth sucks in comparison to Xfinity.
