Is Perfect Dark any good? A guy at work said it was a little slow paced (boring) and really hard. I want to buy a good 360 game that has plenty of action.

That would be Call of Duty 2/Dead Rising/Oblivion you want. Stay the hell away from Perfect Dark Zero. It was so bad, that literally after beating it, I went and dug up my old 64, then played the original to wash the taste of Zero out of my mouth.

ghost recon advanced warfighter is pretty good, but a bit tactical.
...
Gears of war is ganna be amazing. It has plenty of action, and weaponry, including a chainsaw.

Yes, Perfect Dark is the best console game ever. Perfect Dark Zero on the other hand's a piece a *****.

I have to say, as big a Rare fan as I am, that I was sorely disappointed with Perfect Dark Zero.

Graphics (technical/artistic), Gameplay (Design/Control), Levels (Design/Story Relevance/Scripting/Theming), Sound (No Grant Kirkhope?!?) and respect to the franchise (It's Rare taking a huge, smelly dump on Perfect Dark 1, and then flicking it off while shooting it's loved ones).

It's just not a game you want. The 360 already has much better shooters.

I really got the feeling when I played through the game that the team didn't know what the **** they wanted :(

The game did have great textures, though :o

I got the impression that the team didn't have one person working on it two days in a row, even the lead designer. It's like the levels keep changing their minds at every step. :(

And then there's all that VR crap... :cmad:

Oh man, this team needs to be punished by making an RPG, then they can get back to making FPSs.

But before that, they need to play Perfect Dark 1 straight through twice in a row, doing EVERY objective.:word:

Thank God that **** Chandra is dead.....too bad the voice actress isn't :cmad:

The only good sound in that game, at all, is the "tribute" to the old Perfect Dark music style in the song "rooftop escape", which in many ways was also the best level in that damn game.

Man, they got so much wrong with that game, I want to go to Rare and tell them EXACTLY how to make Perfect Dark 2. :(

Make sure she doesn't look like this anymore :cmad:

Yeah, the realistic style in their previous two games, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, worked so much better than their Wannabe-Team-Ninja art "style".

I'm pretty sure they were going for the AIDS/anorexia look :(

Wahaha, they succeeded.

You're right about textures though (aside from characters where it really would have helped), Perfect Dark and Kameo still hold the best textures on the system, though Halo 3 will dethrone them if everything else is at least half as detailed as the Chief.

The thing I disliked most was that it usually took an entire clip to kill an enemy.

The worst thing about the game was the graphics. It suffers from Windwaker Syndrome. The developers get a bad idea for graphics and run with it.

I could tolerate the ****ty single player (Hell the night club level is one of the best Rare shooter levels ever), but cmon, why the **** does the NINTENDO 64 have nearly five times the amount of multiplayer options than 64?

I want to make my James Bond character again. :csad:

Rare, PDZ was like "Perfect Dark Lite", which kind of makes sense, because then Perfect Dark on the N64 is a much improved sequel! :D

So, is it slow paced and technical? Is Gears of War supposed to be slow and technical?

Gears of War is tactical, much more so than PDZ.

PDZ was more run-and-gun. You could take cover, but there was never really reason to do so.

I LMAOed at this lame joke :D

Seriously, did they really make it so you can only play as Joanna in multiplayer? I always thought I was missing the "make your character" option. Am I? :csad:
