So, let's say that Iron Fist gets more than one season. What do you think would be a good overall arc, and who should be involved?

Personally, I think that a side story about Wendall Rands frantic, obsessive search for Kun Lun works as a great side story, anything with the Immortal Weapons and Orson Randall should be held off till season 2. Sparrow, Thunderer and Yu Ti should be our characters in the city.

Davis, with the Crane (Gao) should be the villains, with Davos the "new Kingpin" when it comes to sympathetic villain side arc, living on to season 2. Mets chum should hold a significant, corrupting role, but from the sides to hold off that amazingly tragic reveal of his.... "Current situation."

I'd then find the Daughters of the Dragon, Colleen And Misty, as needed, but I'd love a random role for White Tiger (Ava). I think her and Zdanny could bond nicely as rivals turned friends, if done right.

Finally, Shang Goddam Chi. I want this dude to get a back doors pilot HARD.

What do you all think?

I think they should keep it simple and go with the origin story. Have the Rands die and have Harold Meachum take over the company. Have Rand train under Lei Kung and Yu-ti, have a rivalry with Steel Serpent but defeat Shou-Lao. Rand returns to America to seek revenge on Meachum. Introduce Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, her father Lee Wing, Ninja and Master Khan as well.

No Immortal Weapons or Shang Chi in the first season.

Steel Serpent, Lei Kung, Yu-Ti, Madame Gao, mention of Kun Zi, Misty, Colleen, Luke Cage later in season. Depends on what they do.

I don't know if they should start with the origin story or pepper that into the narrative. I like the multiple flashbacks of the Immortal IF series. Not just Danny, but Wendell, Orson and all the previous IFs as well. I like the idea of jumping right into The Last Iron Fist Story rather than telling the whole origin up front. 13 episodes might have time for bith, though. End on a cliffhanger setting up The 7 Capital Cities of Heaven.

I still reckon the immortal weapons are too cool to miss out on.

I also want to see more of the iron fists through history particularly the Hindu iron fist and the opium wars iron fist.

I would like the Secret Weapons to show up. But I think somewhere they don't want to go too much into magic and special effects and such. Hence the previous rumours of problems with Iron Fist.

And if the Immortal Weapons are to show up I want them to go all out with the mythology.

I know Luke's got his own series, but I feel like he should have a big place in this one as well. Whether or not Netfix does anything with Heroes for Hire, they should at least allude to it. A big part of the Daredevil series was Matt and Foggy's friendship.

How, then, do we pull it off here? Personally, I think they should introduce Danny and maybe some of the Iron Fist mythos in the Luke Cage series, so that the Iron Fist series is less about the origin story (maybe done in pieces in flashbacks throughout the series similar to Daredevil) and more about Danny trying to balance running Rand Corp. with being Iron Fist and hanging out with Luke and falling for Misty and how it all ties in together. I think the first season really needs to be about the human side of all the stuff.

Of course Gao has to be a player here, I mean, right? That was my assumption after she was introduced in Daredevil.

But definitely save the Orson Randall stuff and the Immortal Weapons for future seasons.

Needed?

Yu-Ti, Lei Kung, and a pre-villain Davos at Kun Lun. In NYC, Harold Meachum, Colleen Wing, Misty Knight, and at least a cameo by Luke Cage. There also needs to be a main villain working for/with/exploiting Meachum, but who that is can be flexible.

Jerry Hogarth, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, Professor Wing, Chaka, Ward Meachum and Joy Meachum in present day New York.

Wendall Rand, Thunderer, Yu-Ti and Steel Serpent should be present in flashbacks.

Ward Meachum would be the big bad for the first half of the season, then Chaka replaces him.

I'd save Master Khan for the second season of The Defenders and have Chaka fill his role as Ward Meachum's killer. I'd also save Steel Serpent in the present for Season 2. Same goes for Radion, Warhawk, Shang Chi, Crane Mother and Orson Randall. I'd also have Luke Cage cameo in Season 1 and have Spider-Man appear at the end of Season 2's finale.

Immortal Weapons need to be saved for Season 3.

And I'd also put Shang Chi in a War Machine movie as China's premeir superhero since if a War Machine film ever happens, the obvious story to use is Dragon Seed. And since Marvel lost the rights to use Fu Manchu, Shang Chi is obviously going to be the son of the Mandarin in the MCU.

And I put an emphasis on Jerry Hogarth. The guy provides comic relief and runs Rand-Meachum so Daniel can go around fighting crime as Iron Fist.

We also need a Chris Claremont cameo at some point.

Uh, needed? Danny Rand.

Seriously, even Misty Knight and Colleen Wing aren't needed. But they would be nice to have. Similarly, I suspect Steel Serpent and Madame Gao will be there since that seems to be the story Daredevil helped set up.

I remember that danny's lawyer is named jeremy hogarth

Pretty much the usual supporting cast for season one. With the inclusion of Gao, have Steel Serpent, Daughters of the Dragon, Yu-Ti, Lei Kung, Hogarth and a few side villains. Orson Randall and the Immortal Weapons have huge potential so I'd rather they save them for a second season and maybe have easter eggs related to them.

Actually it's Jeryn Hogarth.

Wow never thought of Ava! The Tiger Amulets are linked to K'un-Lun after all. Good call Nayt.

Ild love a bit of white tiger. Daredevil seems to be expanding the universe in its second season and she would be great for iron fists second season to do the same

Iron Fist has so many supporting heroes of his own that I feel like White Tiger should be introduced on Luke Cage. Have Hector be a man who dons a mask but dies at the end of the 1st Season and have his daughter Ava take over during The Defenders.

I'd also introduce Moon Knight on Luke Cage Season 2 and if reception is positive, give him his own show. Keep in mind that Moon Knight was introduced in Werewolf By Night, not in his own series. He also spent some time as a Hulk villain until fan reception was so positive that he got his own series. And it's the same thing Marvel are trying with Punisher and Elektra on Daredevil. Granted the circumstances are a bit different since Punisher and Elektra both had some dreadful films made and Marvel are testing the waters but Moon Knight is an inherently risky character. I'm not sure if audiences are ready for a David Lynch-style superhero but if people really like an extremely trippy character, I say give it to them since Moon Knight is awesome and the street-level MCU wouldn't feel complete without him.

Misty is already in Cage's series so for appearances I would like...

Coleen Wing
Hector (as White Tiger) and Ava
A set up for Moon Knight.

the sons of the tiger

I was actually thinking that another cool way to tie the Luke Cage and Iron Fist shows together would be to use Abe Brown from the Sons of the Tiger as a dojo owner in Harlem. I would cast Fred Williamson and have the Sons of Tiger be a group in the '80s, and now they've all split up.

good thinking

What do you think now that Carrie Ann-Moss is playing Jeri Hogarth, a genferbent version of the character? I'm not a fan because she seems completely different in terms of personality from the comics version.

I think that it's Carrie-Ann Moss working with Marvel and that much like Idris Elba as Heimdall, it feels wrong for Marvel to not give that actor a role.

Yeah, but the personality was completely different than the comic counterpart, that it was pretty much an in-name-only version (probably the most annoying type in comic-to-media adaptations). Might as well have made her an original character.
