AoU is nearly perfect in my eyes, but a few things have surfaced in criticism: it's 'overstuffed', has a few pacing issues, 70 minutes were cut that (while the may have further affected pacing) contained useful information. So it occurred to me that perhaps two films would have been a more efficient way to tell this story. I realize that some will claim that the two-part IW will have prohibited them from splitting AoU, but I disagree on the grounds that Marvel can pretty much do whatever they want with these films and still be wildly successful.

More Thor/Selvig would have been wonderful, and I certainly don't feel like this film (despite being very information dense) had any unnecessary information. Some may argue that Banner/Widow was unnecessary and took valuable screen-time, but those people don't seem to understand that Bruce needs a powerful catalyst to work towards "Smart" Hulk. I can see no better candidate than the one woman who doesn't let him run away, and who can actually keep him from hulking out.

we do have a AoU forum which is where this is moving too

Actually I think cutting out more would have helped. They coulda done away entirely with Vision and that whole convolution of how he came to be.

Yeah, it was pretty awesome the way it was. Another 10-15min would have helped imo. But one film was definitely the way to go.

Absolutely not. It just needed an additional 15-20 minutes.

This.

I mean, I'd love to see the 3.5 hour version. But I do think even 20 additional minutes would have sufficed.

Here's hoping for that extended edition.[BLACKOUT] DO IT MARVEL. WE WILL BUY IT.[/BLACKOUT]

- Remove the unnessary Banner/Widow Romance

- Cut down on family man Barton

- Add an extra 15-30 minutes to the film

- Get a better writer/ editor.

Haven't they already announced it?

Seems there's some fear it might've just been a rumor.
Amazon did send an email out that said their initial details of the home release was inaccurate because Marvel hadn't actually released any information about it. Considering the movie wasn't even out in the US when that initial Amazon announcement was made, it was foolish on their part to go ahead with unconfirmed information.

Agreed with he current consensus. Doesn't need to be 2 films. 10 or 15 minutes more would have done the job.

The film could have been 3 hours. But honestly I think it was balanced incredibly well. Not perfectly - it was obvious that some of Thor's stuff had been cut, and Vision got the short shrift. But ultimately I think Whedon managed to fit everyone and everything superbly into the time he had.

Add the extra 15-30 minutes that was cut with Thor and Cap. More character development with the twins. I also agree with cutting Vision, he did nothing for me, maybe add a more direct scene showcasing that Ultron was ultimately created and being manipulated by Thanos. Maybe show the Avengers interracting with other countries in non peril situations.

But, no to two films. Personally, I think taking what should be 1 film and splitting it up kind of weakens the first part. So far, this has happend with every movie I have seen that has done this fad. From Harry Potter, to The Hobbit to Mockingjay.

Yeah, Marvel might be up for it, but ultimately, Disney themselves could care less about even adding deleted/alternate scenes to their DVD's/Blurays.

Doubt it will happen. Marvel's never done it before, there was even an online campaign to get one for Thor The Dark World.

imo, Disney would be stupid not to. I mean sure, release the normal one, but 6 months later, you release the extended cut and make nearly double the earnings.

Cut out the twins and the Hawkeye family stuff. Replace with more Ultron, Vision, & Hulk/Widow stuff...

No to splitting AOU to two films for me.

I agree with the rest here -- an additional 15 - 20 minutes would've been enough. Also, cut the Hulk/BW romance and the dragging Hawkeye family stuff.
