What I Think Will Happen
May 6, 2016 - Captain America 3
July 8, 2016 - Doctor Strange

May 5, 2017 - Thor 3
July 28, 2017 - Guardians of the Galaxy 2
November 3, 2017 - Black Widow

July 6, 2018 - The Inhumans
November 2, 2018 - Avengers 3 - Part I

May 3, 2019 - Avengers 3 - Part II

No chance an Avengers film comes out in the fall. If anything, part one would be late July the previous year, and part II the following May. They could have a sandwich film that serves as a filler in November. I think it is a good way to milk audiences, considering the lack of heavy hitter properties, but what would be the cost of producing two Avenger films back to back? A billion... with marketing and everything else, at least.

A couple posts up someone made a pretty in depth map of the marvel cinematic universe. I was nodding my head as I read and thinking yeah this all sounds great. Anyway I get all the way to the end of their predictions (it goes thorough phase 5 2029!) and imagine my shock! That after 39 predictions, their was no Midnight Sons movie. Even though all the major players were in their own movies!

I like the list and it was a fun read! But no Midnight Sons is unacceptable!

Because Thor, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and Blade are all currently members of the Avengers in the comics. It's pointless to cut them out of the Avengers and then slap them on a team together just to put Ghost Rider on a team. Also, I posted that Thor would die in Thor 4. It's hard to sell a Marvel film based on supernatural heroes without him present.

Plus, Ghost Rider would be on a team. Since Punisher notoriously have issues with the roster composing the MCU Defenders, he and Ghost Rider would be placed on the Thunderbolts. Since the Thunderbolts can't use Shocker, Mach or Juggernaut due to Sony owning the two former and Fox owning the latter, this is the thunderbolts team that I'd use.

Red Hulk (Technically in charge)
Baron Zemo (The field leader)
Songbird (second in command)
Abomination (The Muscle/replacement for Juggernaut)
Taskmaster (The strategist)
Enchantress (Holds the team together)
Bullseye (The jerk who nobody likes)
Moonstone (Tries to fill the role that Enchantress does but fails terribly at it and winds up just making everyone upset and keeps failing to redeem herself)
Ghost Rider (The murderer who isn't nearly evil enough to be on this team)
Blizzard (The tech guy who's responsible for equipment)
Ghost (who everyone forgets is even on the team)
Punisher (The team member who openly wants to kill everyone else)
Luke Cage and Hawkeye (The two superheroes who are tasked by Red Hulk to babysit the team)

I'd have this team spread out over at least two films with certain members leaving due to a jailbreak or by getting a full pardon.

Blizzard frees himself at the end of the first film when he gets left at base by freezing Luke Cage and Hawkeye and Bulleye just abandons his team in the field because he can. Ghost fills Blizzard's role in the sequel where Enchantress and Punisher both join.

I wonder if Howard the Duck will be one of the Phase 3 films. ;)

Not the perfect use of this image, but whatever. I understand why you wonder :D

1. Why do you think that we're getting two Ant-Man films before Avengers 3?

2. How to you expect Hulk to get made mere months after Avengers 3 comes out? Between production and reshoots, there simply isn't time to do both.

3. How can Adam Warlock get his own film After Guardians 3 when it makes more sense for Adam Warlock to join that team in the first place as well as include him in Avengers 3 since he's related to the Infinity Gauntlet story?

4. What makes you assume that Nova will also get his own film instead of be part of Guardians of the Galaxy or New Warriors? Your placement of Guardians 3 is weird.

5. Why are there no Thor or Captain America sequels in Phase 4?

6. July is spelled with a y, not an i.

i'm just guessing...and i guess you must be fun at parties...
and i guess avengers 4 will have a new team and if there are thor 4 and cap 3 they'll have new actors for this... and the new introduced ones should be focused on after the older members had three movies...
take the 2017 slot for hulk and black panther right after the avengers...
avengers is before ant man and maybe ant man 2 leads to avengers 3
adam warlock gets introduced in guardians and gets his own movie to expand the universe even more towards thanos,
same as nova

anyhow there could be adjustments made...how would you change it?
( i just copy pasted juli wrong and didn't noticed it ) feel free to change that too

really, how would your list look like?

For one, I'd make Avengers 3 the Infinity Gauntlet. Recasting everyone then doing the Infinity Gauntlet with a whole new team doesn't sit well with me.

Secondly, I can't see Ant-Man getting a sequel since he lacks villains. MODOK is also an enemy of Captain Marvel and Captain America. Whirlwind is also an enemy of Iron Man. Crossfire is also an enemy of Hawkeye. That just leaves Egghead. I really don't see Ant-Man having franchise potential, particularly since Wasp is dead, Ultron is associated with Iron Man and Hank Pym is old. He's certainly not getting a second sequel in Phase 3 when Kevin Feige is talking about introducing Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and the Inhumans. Even with regards to Phase 4, I can't imagine Ant-Man 2 coming in place of Thunderbolts or a reboot of Blade or Ghost Rider.

Also, we've seen the Space, Reality and Power gems. I'd put the Soul Gem in Doctor Strange as an object in the Dark Dimension. The Time Gem would be in Captain America 3 as the Bloodstone which Zemo desires to become an immortal dictator. The Mind Gem can either be retconnec into being Loki's scepter or it can be the MacGuffin of Guardians 2.

And I'd use Guardians 2 as a way to introduce Nova, Phylla-Vell and Adam Warlock to the team. I initially wanted Phylla to be in Captain Marvel but Gamora can't be the only female character on the team. Two of these characters don't need their own film since they can still be developed among an established team in the same way that Scarlet Witch is being developed in Age of Ultron.

And regarding TV shows, assuming that the second season of Agents of SHIELD and the Netflix series succeed, I can see them all getting renewed. I can also see Runaways debuting on ABC Family while new Netflix series for Punisher and Moon Knight hit. All of this would happen before Avengers 3 as an excuse for the Infinity Gauntlet to be as epic as possible with The Avengers, SHIELD, The Defenders and the Guardians of the Galaxy teaming up with Hydra and The Hand to stop a common foe who actually succeeds in killing most of the heroes and destroying Earth with Drax as the only hero left alive by the end. And yes, with his dying breath, he'd use the Infinity Gauntlet to bring everyone back to life at the end with the exception of Thanos.

Oh, and for the post credits scenes of Avengers 3. One of them would need to be Gamora meeting Kevin Bacon. The other would be Daredevil advising Iron Man on the legal repercussions of all the damage the Avengers cause.

i just thought about if ant man turns out to be a hit, he could become giant man and they introduce some other characters, or we see him joyining the avengers alongside hawkeye and nick fury ...and it would then lead into avengers 3 (with giant man, hulk, the vision, cap, thor and the rest of the previous avengers) where they fail to defeat thanos...so they need to rebuilt (dr. strange blackbolt and who's left) and recieve more help from the cosmic universe like the guardians, inhumans and adam warlock. and bucky becomes cap in avengers 4 (roster for it: cap. dr. strange, maybe IM, blackbolt, vision, black panther, adam warlock, nova, perhaps even some gotg)
where they fight thanos again and succeed.

ok i edited my list
what do you think about it ?

I wonder if Howard the Duck will be one of the Phase 3 films. ;)

I made that joke like 3 weeks ago before the
Guardians after credits scene
was known, little did I know that Howard the Duck would actually be introduced into the MCU before Black Panther :oldrazz:

Yeah, a couple of those subtitle choices made that clear to me. Avengers Civil War being the most obvious, World War Hulk the second most obvious, and Thor Ragnarok being the third most obvious (just because it's a clunky title). Captain America The Fallen Son isn't a bad name, depending on how they want to handle the movie.

It's also the fact that War of Kings is a plotline that Marvel Studios can't legally do and it's too early to kill Steve Rogers or Thor since Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth are still contracted for Avengers 3. That and Civil War isn't happening before Infinity Gauntlet, World War Hulk has to come after Planet Hulk and Captain Marvel and Black Panther were both name-dropped + there's still an additional film coming in 2018.

I would prefer Avengers 3/Infinity Gauntlet be a cliffhanging 2 parter so that it doesn't feel rushed or truncated into 2 hours, released a year apart.

The Infinity Gauntlet coming before Civil War was one of the main reasons I said Civil War was the most obviously wrong (actually, I don't think they're doing Civil War at all, fwiw). I do think it's possible to do a World War Hulk without a Planet Hulk (particularly since they keep saying they're not doing a Planet Hulk and the reasons for it are pretty clear and understandable). They would need some other kind of setup to take the place of Planet Hulk, though.

I'd rather the future Hulk movies go

Hulk: Ghost of the Past
Avengers: Infinity
Hulk: Code Red (Red Hulk and the Gamma Corps as villains)
Avengers 4 (Kang as villain)
Hulk: Rise of the Pantheon (with the U-Foes as villains)
Avengers 5 (Korvac as villain)
Hulk: Fall of the Pantheon (Pantheon Betrays Hulk)
Avengers 6 (Civil War where Hulk gets shot into space at the beginning)
Planet Hulk (with Red King as the villain)
World War Hulk Avengers film
Hulk: Future Imperfect (Maestro as villain)

And honestly, Hulk has a great supporting cast. They just need to give us Jim Wilson, Marlo Chandler, Amadeus Cho and Rick Jones along with Doc Samson and Betty Ross. We need to see Hulk interact with normal people when the other Avengers aren't around. Planet Hulk should be a LONG way away. I'm talking Phase 7 which is all the way in the 2040s since there are plenty of stories to tell on Earth where it isn't just Hulk beating up aliens for two hours.

You forgot to mention Hulk teaming up with Dr. Strange. For a character with a reputation for being a gigantic safety risk, Hulk has a lot of friends/acquaintances from the Marvel Universe (even outside of his own, solo storylines) that you could pair him with.

~Dr. Strange (fellow Defender, and fatherly figure)
~Captain America (best friend)
~Spider-Man (fellow heroes with public menace personas that they're trying to shed from the public eye)
~Thor (favorite sparring partners, and brothers in combat)
~Thing (the two guys at the gym who HAVE to spar with each other)
~Hawkeye (arguing brothers dynamic)
~Black Widow (occasional flirting buddies)
~Wasp (buddies from the cartoon, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes)
~Falcon (Uncle Hulk to nephew Jim)

Hulk is such a good character, and I'm glad that he's playing a bigger part in AOU.

BTW, I've been thinking more about the May 5, 2017 date (or, alternatively, the Nov. 3, 2017 date). I put down Inhumans as a wishful thinking movie primarily related to Agents of SHIELD (which required wishful thinking that the show would be around then as well). But it was tough to choose anything because none seemed to really fit well with the build up to Thanos compared to Thor 3 and GotG2, which could at least stay on the cosmic side of things.

However, the male Kree Captain Mar-Vell is a little more cosmic than I'm giving credit (and has ties to Thanos). Given this, a Captain Marvel (human female version) isn't terribly out of place with an origin story that connects to space. Might actually be a decent build up to Avengers 3.

Fox owns Thing.

what if Thanos gets his own film to fully establish him prior to Avengers? They could also establish that Thanos may already have some of the Infinity Stones.
