Footprints dug out for the 1998 Godzilla film in Hawaii are still visible in 2015.

This actually raises some questions about ecological damage.

I'd say they did. They were originally about 4 feet deep (in the first pic you can see men standing in them), but now they look about one foot or less deep. If you fill a hole back in to be even with the ground around it...it will over time settle down below the surrounding level. This is because the surrounding areas dirt has been compacted over the years, but the dirt put into a hole is loose at first....it takes time for it to compact down and thus leaves a depression.
