It was originally blue for ROTJ. They even animated it blue for the sail barge scene, but the blue blade wasnt showing up well against the blue sky so they had to change it to a green blade. Some of the early artwork that was done before the change shows the blue blade.

Hmm, thanks for the info. I remember during the promotional release on Laserdisc they made a big deal about the remastered color quality and they showed the duel between Luke and Vader. That was the first time I even noticed that the blade was green. I just figured I was too young to notice when it was in theaters.

Tom Jung Original 2nd ESB poster...

Always thought the action Vader poster better matched the over the top superhero style of Jung's original*, more then Roger Kastel's "Gone with the wind" version.
