Pixar's Brave - In Theaters Summer 2012

Japanese trailer with English subtitles. It has a lot more footage and explains more of the plot than what has been shown in the American promo material. So spoilers I guess.

That trailer is confusing and kinda terrible. It introduces the idea of the threat several times but doesn't show any of the escalation.

not confusing if you read subtitles

Confusion isn't in the subtitles. The way the trailer unfolds is stupid. It keeps telling the same info about the forest law like three time then just before it ends drops and extra tidbit about a prince angering the forest before.

We get it. It never shows any of the angry forest, just people reacting in gasp which could be from anything.

It's a very Japanese trailer. That explains it all.

I agree that its weird that they say you don't want to angry the forest three times. I certainly hope its not just some we need to be one with nature, is there an actual threat the forest poses.

I don't know. A crazy, evil looking bear seems like a forest threat.

For me it's the "the kingdom will crumble" and "this means war" stuff and a bear in the forest?

I accidently read what the curse is so I now kind of get it.

Just saw a new commercial on Nickelodeon. And guess what song they used in the background?

this is the time to stop watching pixar trailers. until march they still tease the story. but then in the last 2 months they start promoting it like other studios.

That trailer was amazing!! I am very excited for this film. I have a feeling it is going to be very special. Hopefully it will rival The Incredibles in quality.

But yeah, no more trailers or clips from this one. Just have to hold out till June.

Trailer didn't really do anything for me, I'm still excited for the movie though.

None of the trailers have done much for me. Hoping this is a Wall-E situation where the trailers didn't sell me much on it but once I saw the movie fell completely in love.

It's weird because deep down, I know this will be a special movie but I also think the marketing has been awkward thus far. It seems like Disney doesn't know how to market it. While it's not as bad as John Carter, it's also confusing. I think they don't know how to market the tone of the film.

Anyone here from Scotland? I'd like an opinion on the main character's accent/dialect. I love the Scottish accent, but the girl's accent is really rubbing me the wrong way in everything I've seen of this movie. Can't really put my finger on why it is doing that.

Kelly McDonald, and it is her actual accent. She was doing an interview for Disney Channel and that is how she talks.

It sounded like a real accent to me and I don't know **** about accents.

Her accent isn't rubbing me the wrong way. Watching her and Kevin McKidd being interviewed at D23 reveals hers is more thicker and more pronounced, while his is more lighter.

Kelly Macdonald Macdonald ? from No Country for Old Man? wooow thats her?

Cool. I think its just the way she stresses some words. Can't be helped though. Its how she talks and I'm not going to fault her for it. There seems to be plenty to like about the film.

I think it is the fact that it's the first Pixar movie that features a female protagonist, and it doesn't play for laughs like other Pixar movies but it's what one would say Pixar's first real dramatic animation. What we know from the trailer is that the Princess wanted to change her life, got tricked(?) by an witch in the forest, and it ended up cursing her kingdom. However, she decided to do save her kingdom by herself. There's no funny sidekicks, no talking animals, and no cute kids as far as we know. I can understand if Pixar has some difficulty marketing this movie, particularly to kids, because they may not find anything interesting to latch on to.

There are cute kids, and as far as talking animals, we don't know yet.
