Pixar's Brave - In Theaters Summer 2012

Pixar is definitely better overall and I am looking forward to more of Brave. I'm not a huge fan of anything Dreamworks except for How to Train Your Dragon. That movie just blew my mind with its great characters, amazing amazing visuals, a story we've seen a billiion times but still felt really fresh and the emotions in that movie were off the chart. Everything with Toothless and Hiccup were ridiculous and those moments top almost every moment in all Pixar movies.

While I think Pixar is better overall, I think there is sorta an injustice in not giving Dreamworks its credit. What I can say about Dreamworks is that are willing to try for a different aesthetic in each film. Dark B tried posting images of DW's humans to discredit them but I think it did the opposite. As you can clearly see, the designs are varied which shows how broad they are with character design. What Dreamworks fails is definitely story. The animation is pretty darn good if you ask me. I don't know about anyone else, but the scene in How To Train Your Dragon where you see Hiccup's dad almost buckle from sorrow when he realized he just disowned his son was master work by the animators.
i think Pixars characters are attractive . is this the right word to use?
IMO there is nothing good lokoing and attractive in dreamworks female characters. just look the the girl from Seinfields Bee movie.WTF were they thinking ?

I know I'm in the minority on this but I think that How to Train Your Dragon is better than most Pixar movies. I prefer Wall E, The Incredibles, and Toy Story 1 over it but thats it. This movie could be good could be bad, haven't really seen anything to push me to either side. I hope her main weapon is a bow though, I've been waiting for a movie were the hero's main weapon is a bow.

I really like How to Train Your Dragon. It is better then Cars. Perhaps on the level of A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo. That is about all I would give you. Wall-E, The Incredibles, the Toy Story trilogy, and Up on are on another level. Ratatouille just behind them.

I am curious though, how you separate each Toy Story film in terms of quality. I mean, we are talking about three different, yet equally incredible films.

As to Brave. Kelly Macdonald is doing the voice for the lead character. That is about as awesome as it gets. :yay:

i like how the forest is grey and desatured green. and on top her bright orange hair seperates her from the forest just by using the right color for the hair.
she pops up in the frame without using any tricks or effects. now thats smart use of colors.

close up.

I completely agree, man. It seems as though Dreamwork's female characters are just bland.

Well, see, I agree with this sentiment. Pixar definitely have much more attractive character designs. When looking at both companies as a whole, Dreamworks' designs do lack charm. They went in the right direction with How To Train Your Dragon, but let's see how they do with their next film. I would absolutely love to work at Pixar one day despite the fact that I am on the path of traditional animation. Pixar, without a doubt, is more appealing to me.

I think the only poster to not have that is the Dragon one.

I tihnk Pixar just puts mroe heart into their films overall than Pixar. Look at Toy Story 3 from last year. The fist CGI animated movie to ever make a tear make a tear come to my eye. And I'm a guy!

The teaser with Cars was nice and misterious, 3D looks good, i jumped when she throwed The arrow at The screen.

i demand the teaser and at least 5 official images from Brave.

Holy ****, was that Kevin McKidd's voice I heard in the trailer?

Movie looks great by the way. This didn't appeal to me until I saw that picture. Trailer was great and everything looks gorgeous.

I assume that was McKidd, yes.

holy Smokes, Pixar I HAVE MISSED YOU .

brave is enough for me to see with that picture alone.

(the concept in the first page is a natural unwritten reason to see it :woot:)

i just hope they dont let disney FRAK it up again by saying we need to get boys like they did with Tangled .

Brave is a title that can appeal to boys as well as girls, so I really dont even see what you're getting at there...

How to Train Your Dragon was as good as TS3, if not better.

Nothing beats Toy Story 3. Nothing.
