Sony Files Patent For VR-Use Prescription Glasses That Can Track Your Eyes. April 7, 2019 . 3:30pm

It seems that Sony has come up with a (perhaps inelegant) solution to the problem of using glasses with PlayStation VR. That is, glasses that track your eye data instead of VR head-mounted displays doing so.

I eventually got a PS VR headset off of eBay for a good price. Have to say I am enjoying it immensely.
Even managed to get it working on my PC using some third party software, but the resolution was unfortunately not good enough for the main reason why I wanted it. Elite: Dangerous.

Now I’m on an eBay hunt for a suitable Rift or Vive!

I think PS VR 2.0 that releases alongside the PS5 could be the unit that finally brings VR mainstream. especially if they can streamline the form factor and eliminate most ( if not all ) the extra wires and boxes you have to hook up to the Playstation.

just don't force VR onto the consumer and force bundle it with the PS5, which is what doomed the Xbox One at launch with the forced Kinect.

Agreed.
It should always be a choice for the consumer. Of course if there is a bundle that includes VR for those who want it, then why not?
If resolution is improved and the screen door effect reduced for VR on the PS5, I think a lot of people will dive in...

Sony Finally Provides Statement on PS5 PSVR Support

This is confusing. I don't plan to buy a psvr. But I've been seeing a lot of articles regarding psvr and ps5 and it sounds like a mess. Iirc you can't use psvr with the ps5 camera? And I thought for sure Hitman 3 is heading to psvr right away since that was teased before, but isn't now. So when do they plan to announce psvr2?

PSVR PS5 Integration Makes the Virtual Reality Tech Feel Left Behind

Okay reading that. I think psvr is a dying platform. Sony is probably planning a psvr2 but the market for vr is so small for them to keep up with it for the neXt ten years. Like sony is better off putting their effort into something else. I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled a Vita on that one. Imo, virtual reality is never going to take off even if they eventually made the thingas light as normal glasses.

I have had a couple of cool solid games on there like resident evil and beat saber also heard the iron man game is pretty fun maybe will check that out

5 Stocks to Ride the Virtual Reality Wave in 2021 & Beyond

It has sold 5 million and it is the most selling vr equipment but idk... I feel like one day, it would be dropped by Sony just like psvita. The only good thing i can say about it is its much cheaper than Oculus. But I don't know whats difference of that to this, like its features/games/quality.
