i turn on my xbox and instead of a green circle outlinning the power button it is red. has this happened to you? what's going on ?

Uh-Oh! THE RING OF DEATH!!!

Is the whole circle red, is 3/4 flashing, or is only half the circle flashing??

If its 3/4 flashing, then your 360 is fried...and you'll have to send it for repairs! Mine did....I went 4 weeks without my 360!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If its not, it could be overheated, or a loose connection somewhere (Usually the lead going into your TV).

It's possible you can turn it on later and have it work.

But if it's broken, send it in to Microsoft for a free replacement. (Don't forget to keep your harddrive).

it's out of warranty i doubt MS will fix it for nothing...

the ring is two thirds lit red, not all the way... all cables are fit firmly in place. what might've fried it?
this sucks ...

It's in the warranty, believe me. Call them up and say you're getting a red ring.

The only downside to the 360.... this & no Blu-ray.

Seeing as how there are 4 lights, there is no way that it is 2/3rds lit up.

And all 360's that get the Red Ring of Death are covered by Warranty for an extended 3 years.

Where have you been?

Maybe he just got it. Though, I don't even have one yet & know about it.
