Pluto: Demoted

I just don't think these astronomers have any grounds on declassifiying pluto as being a planet. They aren't the rulers of the galaxy. I don't care if they are "scientist", they still don't have the authority to do this.

Actually they do. That is why the IAU was created. To create a central authority for such things

Yeah...

there's only one Pluto in my book

who does then, god? give me a break, scientist are the ones who created the term "planet" and what it meant.... so they can change the definetion to whatever they see fit....

It'd be funny if Pluto crashes into Earth now out of anger.

Depends on how long it takes the news to get to it.

I don't care if they are "scientist", they still don't have the authority to do this. God and Jeebus made Pluto revovle around the flat Earth. Therefore it is a planet There is no such thing as science or scientists. These are the same liberal nutjobs who want evolution and not creationism taught in a science class. Git-r-done!

;)

But seriously....who gives a ****? Last I checked, we are all out of grade school and will never have to memorize the planets again. This is right up there with K-Fed and Britney's marriage and local high school football on the list of things I don't give two ****s about.

its a giant ice ball. Its should have never been called a planet from the start.

You just wait until Plutonians invade us, then you'll be sorry. NASA and your arrogant book readings and theories.

*cries*

Plutowned.

Hey I'm gonna start a book club. And in this book club you will be able to vote on weather or not a "book" is in fact a BOOK.

The first "book" on the docket is:

Stephen King's: The Shining

I vote no.

"The Shining" is bigger than most other publications commonly referred to as 'books' or 'novels'. I vote yes.

God and Jeebus said The Shining is evil. I vote no.

I vote that "Confessions of an Heiress" and "Bush Country: How George W. Bush Became the First Great Leader of the 21st Century" both be considered not a book

pluto was the best name ..i want it back and now

Good!

No good waste of text book pages if you ask me.

Seconded.

I remember back in my day we had nine planets, and we weren't to lazy to learn all 'em neither. You lazy kids these days and your mere eight planets. Next thing ya know they'll telling our kids crazy lies like Evolution and that George Bush is the President. Damn kids.

Astronomy hasn't been this fun since Bondi et al. introduced the steady-state theory!

My Astronomy teacher will be happy. He had a personal vendetta with Pluto being a planet.
