Police express concern over rapid superhero registry

People like this really do give comic fans a bad name, 'cause it makes it seem like we're infantile ******s who can't tell fiction from reality.
Yeah, I mean seriously, if you're in your thirties and you're a fattie who worked at a Gas Station like Razorhawk (or whatever), try gaining a little perspective. This is pathetic, in part because superheroes are a pipe dream and fantasy at best and in part because none of these guys even look like they put any effort into looking the part besides the costume.

If I were going to be a "superhero", I would have train and train and train. I would have to be in peak physical condition to even consider being a "superhero". Not to mention I would have to spend thousands of dollars on equipment in order to survive fighting crime. You can't just put an XXL jacket on and make a mask and call yourself a crime fighter. Earn a badge and a gun, then you can tell me you're a crime fighter.

Chicks dig a man in a superhero costume.......

You want to dress up like a superhero and pose and get attention from people? Fine. Just wait for Halloween or ComicCon like all cosplayers do. Hell, they could probably make a nice business out of renting themselves out at children's birthday parties.

But patrolling the streets? To borrow from an animated fanfilm, Razorhawk's gonna get shot in the face.

Yeah theres a reason they call it... secret identity.

i always thought it was only a matter of time before somebody dressed up as superhero and went out and "fought crime" but i never suspected a "registry"!

sweet! thers one in my area.. The Eye in Mt. View CA. Maybe its time he meets a "real" super villan... wheres my raccoon costume....

The registry will spark the lamest real-life interpretation of Marvel's Civil War imaginable.

It's possible a man to train himself to an incredible degree. Batman-like feats are fabled and rare, but people have done the things he has done (somewhat). I could believe with enough money, privacy and free time a man could become adept at all the things Bruce Wayne is, although it would likely drive him insane due to a sexless, restless, friendless existence. I could even believe with enough money, resources and a large enough team backing him (a la the Outsiders) a vigilante could have some impact (though not nearly as much) as Batman has in the comics.

The problem arises though that no one has Bruce Wayne's free time, or the few that do wouldn't be training themselves into oblivion.

There are also more problems. Perhaps Batman lives in a world of colorful, easy to recognize, black and white criminals and lawmen, but we don't. You can't patrol around hoping to get lucky, that you will magically catch criminals unawares. Crime happens behind closed doors and out of view, mostly. You can't go around beating people up and expect the local authorities to "protect your identity" as forensics and good ole' fashion detective work will eventually find you out. Lawyers and DAs will happily prosecute your ass for assault and battery. You can't rely on the fact that criminals are a "supersitious and cowardly lot" because, well, they aren't, and to them you're just an ******* in a costume, and you will get shot.

If Batman were real, he'd be all kinds of crazy, more than likely carry a gun, and we wouldn't be calling him a hero no matter how skilled he was at fighting 'bad guys' (as if there were such a thing).

thats what i was thinking! however in this Civil War i'd be more inclined to be with regestered then unregestered.

It is going to be awesome when there is a villain directory and they carry actual weapons and bungle these guys in colored tights.

Since these guys claim to do mostly charity work and menial things like giving directions and picking up trash are these "real life super villains" going to give bad directions and litter?

They'll also dangle cash in front of charity volunteers outside of grocery stores, then change their mind at the last minute, put it back in their pockets, and laugh.

But those are like the harshest, most evil of supervillains.

and Comic Cons ;)
Whenever I see hot girls in Comic-Con photos, I wonder if people tend to hook up at those things. I had a friend who went to DragonCon I think, and she said on Saturday as things were winding down some of the girls and guys were ****ing themselves out for more money to purchase whatever anime crap they were selling. I went to BotCon once, and that certainly wasn't going on, but there weren't many girls there either.

I saw a picture of one of the heroes picking on a kid in a wheel chair. I think he is turning into a villain.

I think I might just show these guys what a real super-villain is...

Razorhawk's identity revealed! He's totally ****ed now.

Lawl, love that pic of Batman, too. Jesus, this story is hilarious. :applaud:

HAHAHA Razor Hawk...what a loser fatty.
