I'm putting together a portfolio of all my film/media work for a university idea.

Have any of you guys got any ideas on how to present it, how much to include etc.

I was thinking...

A script, An analysis of a film, a few of my films, a storyboard...

your cover page should have a pic of you in a thong

but honestly though. a lot of times less is more. the more direct and to the point it is the better. dont overwhelm them with words. its the more rock less talk method. good luck

Should I just display my work or do I need to accompany my portfolio with an explanation to the work and why I did it etc, or should I just leave it as stand alone work.

just title them. there is nothing more annoying than an artist talking about why he did a certain piece. work should speak for you. you shouldnt have to explain it. know what i mean? unless you really want to stress or highlight a certain part, then just caption it on the bottom of the page as a reference or something.

story board comparisons to actual movies shots are always nice too

use your best work and nothing else. but dont put too much in when doing my art portfolio i kept it to a maxium of 15 sleeves with allowed my 30 pages to display my work. dont over clutter pages, try and sort out a style and layout and let it flow through your folio

be able to talk about each piece easily and try not to make it sound forced.

I'll be fine, I was mainly thinking of putting...

2-3 of my video works and in terms of paper work I was going to put:

Analysis of film, an essay on what the greatest film ever made is, some storyboards and scripts and possibly an evaluation from a previous work to show what I learned.

I may also put in my production diary?

I mean, with my media course I do have to do alot of paperwork to back up what I am doing, I know that I have some great pieces of work to show, I just want to make sure that the written work that I display is also up to scratch.

leave room for you to talk if you have an interview. Let your work speak for itself if they don't understand they will ask. you should ask your tutor about it i know thats what i'm doing. my tutor will sit down with me and go through my work.

I've talked to him, but hey I didn't get alot of help. It doesn't matter though I know that if they asked me any question about why I want to choose this couse I know what to say.

I'm so passionate about film and television...well mainly film.

Here are the 3 videos I'm putting in my portfolio.

Just tell me what you guys think.
