Infinity War Power levels of various characters

Spider-Man beat up Firelord and fought an entire team of X-Men to a standstill.

With Cap, I read somewhere a long time ago that he is a quick learner of the people he fights.
Who ever he is up against gets a few hits in at 1st, but then Cap quickly learns, adapts and comes back to beat them down.
So yes, power is important, but also skill.
Tony has Friday to get a pattern of Caps fighting, Cap does it without a computer.

I thought they showed that really really well with everyone Cap fought in Civil War.

Skill can only take you so far. Cap has no where near the strength to hurt Thor and Hulk.

I didnt mean to exactly specify power levels, but to know to some extent the limitations of characters. Like cap can lift about x amount and run about y km/h fast. that way you can have moments where certain heroes cannot handle a certain situation and they need their team members.

Yet he knocked out the Hulk along with Spider-man. Not some indirect incapitating method. Straight up punched in the face. And it's canon, it happened in 616. So don't take powers seriously. As a DBZ fan, i came in terms with it a longggg time ago.

Sometimes sacrifices need to be made for storytelling purposes.

I don't disagree but not so much as to break suspension of disbelief. That being said, MCU is doing just fine so far.

In Avengers there's a Thor Vs Iron Man battle, then Thor Vs Hulk. So, if Thor could fight with Hulk, and Iron Man can fight Thor, and (in Civil War) Captain America can fight Iron Man, does that mean that Cap could fight Hulk also? He can fight Spider-Man at least... that Spider-Man who can hold the broken ship...

The power levels makes no sense in those movies.

AT ALL.

In regards to the MCU, to be fair, Thor was literally destroying pieces of Iron Man's armor during the fight which, in my mind, means if Cap hadn't stopped the fight, Tony would have eventually been stripped clean and beaten.

Against the Hulk, Thor was clearly holding back because they were on the helicarrier and a full on fight would have brought the ship down, killing everyone.

Cap COULD fight the Hulk, but it wouldn't go well for him. Now, Cap beat Spider-man because Peter clearly doesn't know how to fight all that well yet. All the power in the world won't help you beat someone who is versed in combat.

Also, the whole Cap/Iron Man fight only happened AFTER both Cap and Bucky fought against him with both men damaging parts of his armor. It was 2-on-1.

Now, the Hawkeye/BP fight literally had Clint trying everything he could to beat T'Challa and then Panther taking him out with minimal effort. I don't remember Clint landing one punch.

I think they've been very consistent when looking at the context of every confrontation.

IM was at 475% power when fighting Thor

Also, just for the sake of saying, power levels fluctuate just like a normal person has 'good' or 'bad' days. Some days I'm soooo tired and slow, others I'm up kicking my duties butts. I'd imagine those fluctuations would be even bigger with more power.

Yes, good point.

Yeah I've noticed people do love to ignore the context of fight scenes for some reason.

The whole point of a hero is overcoming what seem like impossible odds.

Yeah, I agree it's truly Heroic to take on a Villain where the odds are stacked against you because they are more powerful. However, a character finding a way to win a battle due to some sort of exception does not necessarily make them more powerful then the other character. It just means the writers and artists wanted them to win, so they came up with a way for that to happen.

Surfer

eventually, each character should have a limit to his power and skill.
and especially in a movie like IW with so many characters, it would be nice to see certain characters overwhelmed by some villains and their stronger more powerful teammates helping them out.

I've been quite dissapointed in how rising power levels and skills have been depicted to be honest. I think Fox have done a much better job of it over the years with the X-Men.
