Powers General Discussion

I think Powers is worth seeing, but it's not close to the level of Flash or Daredevil. Watch those two and iZombie first, then come back to Powers.
I've already seen Arrow (seasons 1-3 twice) The Flash, DareDevil, iZombie (thru episode 11) Agents of Shield (seasons 1-2) & Agent Carter. I was asking is Powers worth finding if you don't have the Play Station Network, if not I was gonna watch DD again on Netflix. I choose watching Netflix's Daredevil again, super awesome series.

I'll check out the series when it comes to Bluray.

Just finished this, is Calista the Black Swan Triphammer was talking about?

Can Diamond ever get his powers back without Wolfe?

I didn't even see any news on the Blu Ray release. I just stumbled upon it on Amazon the other day.

I ordered it, though.

Can't believe a Playstation exclusive got a Blu Ray release but iZombie is going to be DVD only. Score one for Icon/Marvel on that front.

The whole thing with iZombie is just bizarre all around.

Looking forward to season 2 although the last episodes were not as good but I'm willing to try it.

Have they talked about a premiere date for season 2 yet? I can't remember when the first episode of season 1 debuted.

PlayStation and Sony Pictures TV have found their SuperShock. Michael Madsen (The Hateful Eight) has been cast in the key role, one of the world’s most famous and mysterious superheroes.

Inspired by the graphic novels of the same name, Powers follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward), who are assigned to investigate cases involving people with extraordinary abilities, referred to as “Powers.”

Powers has taken significant liberties with the source material, but in the comic, SuperShock exists, essentially, to answer the question of “what would happen if Superman went senile, and insane.” A member of the Powers version of The Superfriends (in a dark parody of classic, campy cartoon based on DC superheroes), he eventually becomes the central figure in a major tonal shift for the long-running series, the implications of which are still being examined in the current storyline.

The TV series version of SuperShock is described as the ultimate Power for whom the term “superhero” was coined, a perfect physical specimen with an unparalleled presence that catapulted him to global fame. After retiring at the height of his career under mysterious circumstances and disappearing from public view, he emerges for the first time in forty years after the death of Retro Girl.

Production on the second season is underway in Atlanta with Remi Aubuchon taking the reins as the sole showrunner. Powers will debut on PlayStation Network in 2016.

I assume we'll see the first episodes in March, then. I looked it up and the first three hit PSN on March 10, 2015.

Just finished it. I'm a big fan of the books but haven't picked up anything since they went to the FBI. Mixed feelings about the shows but I'm up to watch Season 2 when it hits.

I finished this a few days ago. I like the premise and the characters they built (Royale, Walker, Wolfe-look past the occasional overacting, you) but the tone of the series is all over the place and is highly distracting at times. It's almost too busy for it's own good. Still, the story indeed is intriguing enough for me to continue watching for now.

what the **** happened in the last scene of the second season finale?!?... damn...

I just finished season 2.

It was an improvement over season 1. Still some really bad effects in some places, but a solid show otherwise.

Hopefully we hear about a season 3 soon.

I'm really enjoying this show and definitely want another season.

The end of season 2 was quite something and if they had just cut out the post credits it would have served well as a series ending. But since they did include that they really have to deliver something good for next season :)

I still want to know who or what were those voices heard at the very end...

Three possibilities leap to mind:

1: Future people (most likely powers)
2: Aliens (includes extra dimensional people)
3: Gods

I also really hope that we get an answer to this.

This really sucks. I wish they had told the producers a bit earlier so they could have cut out the last minute or two of season 2 and made the episode into a series finale, it would have worked well as such.

I hope the show manages to find another live somewhere else, though the odds for that are pretty low :(
