Alona Tal might be showing up again as Jo Harvelle on Supernatural, but she will definitely be making her presence known on the new FX superhero show, Powers.
Tal recently shared the news on Twitter, saying, “I want you all to be the first to know I am a part of a new pilot for FX called Powers,” and writer Brian Michael Bendis followed up a little later with a tweet of his own, “Alona Tal joins ‘Powers’ pilot. i’ll confirm it’s…ZORA. BOOM!”
According to TVLine, a rep for FX has confirmed that Tal will be on the show, but there were no details about the character she’d portray. If Bendis is right (and why would the writer be wrong), then Tal will appear to be immortal and possess a memory that could put an elephant to shame as the ‘power’ known as Zora.
The new pilot, based on the graphic novel series with the same name, focuses on two detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, that work in a special division of Homicide that handles cases involving people with superpowers. Already added to the cast are Charles S. Dutton, Lucy Punch as Detective Pilgrim, Jason Patric as Detective Walker, 11-year old Bailee Madison as a girl that’s truly out of this world, and the T-Mobile girl.
Production on the pilot is scheduled to begin this month in Chicago.
