I'm guessing we won't see anything official on this until march, and that will probably be a teaser poster. I doubt we'll get a trailer before June.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't ever get a proper trailer. Oh, they'll release a "trailer", but it'll be the kind of content that, in this day and age, would otherwise be considered a teaser.

Yeah I have a feeling that, since there has been nothing but radio silence from them this entire time, they will try to play that off as intentional in an effort to keep the film under wraps so to speak. So basically we'll get a poster and a teaser trailer and maybe a few vague TV spots once the time draws near. But truth be told I don't ever see the marketing being huge, Fox is not going to spend a penny more than they need to and I don't really think they expect this to make that much money to begin with.

I can't see them doing anything before the end of April / May at best. I wouldn't even be surprised if they show anything until june / July, and we may only have a small teaser at best.

This production has been so unusual, I wouldn't even be able to guess.

Under normal circumstances, I'd think we'd have a trailer before the end of Feb., but there's nothing normal about this film.

Lol true. Probably the best answer we'll be able to surmise.

First teaser poster: September 2015.

Anyone remember from last year the movie "Earth to Echo", that was a complete failure? That's the kind of marketing you'll see for FF. Basically some in theater, sneak peek before the trailers spotlights, and limited commercial advertising. I have a feeling they are really scrimping on the promotion budget.

we will get a teaser poster the week before the movie comes out. it will be the logo. nothing more.

Trailer and poster around May or June, tv spots a week or two before the film opens.

Won't get anything until March. April at the latest.

That'll be the debut of a minute 20 second teaser.

Then a few of generic posters over the course of months, few boring production stills of the characters not utilizing their powers or being at all Fantastic.

Then a couple theatrical trailers around June/July. Then the tv spots, then the movie comes out.

Hopefully there's a trailer next month, if not maybe March or April. I can't wait for it!!!

Of course you can't, then again by your own admission if the trailer was just a montage of Muppets flipping off the camera with a Fantastic Four title card at the end you would love it and want the movie to be a smash hit with 5 sequels...

The Muppets flip the Big Bird to this film!

I'm... I'm so terribly sorry for that awful pun. I promise I won't make the PIGS IN DIMENSION N! one... DAMMIT, I JUST DID! :oldrazz:

We need a grounded and gritty Pigs in Space Dimension N movie, because no-one will take the original seriously.

Dr Strangepork will need to be called Dr Porkashev.

Didn't Fox kind of treat The Wolverine the same way? I seem to remember the marketing for thay movie started quite late.

Does anyone have any real information regarding similar films, first promotional images, first trailers etc.?

Feb. 8th will be the 6 month mark and it seems like we should have something by then.

You can't compare the two. We already knew from 4 previous X-Men-related films what Wolverine would look like or how Hugh Jackman would act, and of the general tone of these films. It's not like we might get surprising revelation that Wolverine might turn out to be an anti-social programmer named Wolvashev who goes by the name "Wolverine" on blogs.

Well whether it's directly comparable to The Wolverine or not, let's take a look. The Wolverine was released July 26 2013 - right around the same time of year as FF, so let's see what we had from that film.

A whole bunch of set photos and videos were available in July and August 2012 (you can check the link above, I won't post them all here).

By Sept. 2012, we had a composer (interesting since the announcement was just made for FF). http://www.superherohype.com/news/172767-marco-beltrami-will-score-the-wolverine

From that point on, there was a steady flow of official photos and other information leading up to the trailer March 27.

So if this follows that pattern, we might not see a trailer until March or April . . . but we should already be seeing promotional images and getting interviews from the director and cast, official release dates, maybe a title, etc.

Last week Friday was my first taste of FF marketing. The trailer was shown before Project T aka Tomorrowland.

Attached are some pics i took of the banners and standees i saw.

FF has a tie-in with Scotch tape. They have a promotional site (french speaking) where you can win prizes incl. a FF notebook, FF USB drive, FF keyring, tickets and a....mini drone?!

Just when we thought the tie-ins couldn't get wierder.. Scotch tape.

I would think they'd use bungee cords. Not sure what the leading brand name is for that product though.

Makes sense, that's what they used to piece together the final cut in the editing room. :D
