Revenge of the Fallen When do you expect a teaser/trailer?

Superbowl Film Advertising

Variety confirms that Paramount will premiere the first footage from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen during SuperBowl XLIII on February 1st 2009, forgoing the traditional theatrical teaser trailer route. Other high profile film advertising spots might include Star Trek, G.I. Joe, Angels and Demons
Monsters vs. Aliens (90-second 3D trailer), Land of the Lost, Fast and Furious, Up, Race to Witch Mountain, and Wolverine.

Surprisingly, Warner Bros. hasn’t bought a television spot despite having a great line-up of films that would appeal to the Superbowl crowd: Terminator Salvation, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Watchmen.

And remember, the Academy Awards will allow film advertising for the first time in the first time in Oscar telecast history, and many expect the premiere of exclusive trailers during that telecast as well.

superbowl spots are very expensive. so i dont expect a teaser spot. superbowl spots are very much about BOOOM and BOOM. i dont remember if there was a movie spot that was teasing. its about some money shots. so i think that the superbowl spots will have some serious money shots.

Well, this is kinda smart.

Everyone knows about Transformers and many know of a sequel. Since most people have been won over in the 2007 original, less effort/money is required in promoting the sequel, which is not bad for more time could be spent on the movie itself and also more can be kept hidden away to build up anticipation and the element of surprise.

I think for a movie with a late June release still has plenty of time for trailers.

Bay will of course show a teaser of ROTF and not an entire trailer just to keep luring fans in, and then having fans wanting to see more. If a teaser is only shown, it's a brilliant idea, just for a director/production's point of view.

Anyone know if the trailer gonna be online the same day..officially...?

I would be willing to bet money it would. With it essentially announced that we'll see it, I'd imagine, it it's anything like last year, it will show up on the official site, possibly Hasbro's site, along with Myspace and/or any other site that features all of the Super Bowl ads. because if they don't, it will just show up online in perfectly good quality courtesy of anyone on the internet that can take what's on their dvr and place it onto the net.

I bet it'll be put online too. They have barely 6 mths left. They have to start promoting the movie asap

lol. No they don't.

Well, I wouldn't say ASAP, but March-April would be the true crunch time to start. If they manage a Super Bowl spot, then that's good too.

I don't see why a cheap teaser hasn't been put together like they did with the first one. It created massive hype.

It'll be out a few days before the Superbowl online and then we will see during the Superbowl.

leaked or official?

official not. studios would not pay millions for the superbowl spot if it would be realesed before the game.

i dont remember if a superbowl movie spot ever leaked.

I don't think Bay will let that happen. He's been trying his hardest to keep almost everything a secret.

I have two reasons to watch the Super Bowl now.

I can't see a leak happening, with all the money put into the superbowl tv spot and the tight lid Bay has on things, it would make it near impossible for the trailer to leak out.

I just hope that they show us some robots after the wait. Hints of Soundwave and Devastator.

i have a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad feeling its gonna be a slow camera movement around optimus as he narrates or something. SOME KINDA JIP where we dont see ****.
good news is the tv spots and film trailers will start shortly after.

A teaser for both Transformers 2 and Wolverine? Well guess I need to record the dang game. I hope they make it a good teaser.
