We’re getting a first look at Butterfly, starring and executive produced by Daniel Dae Kim (Avatar: The Last Airbender), based on Arash Amel’s Boom! Studios’ graphic novel series.

Prime Video announced Thursday that the spy-thriller series will premiere on Wednesday, August 13, with all six episodes. The streamer also released some first-look photos (see above and below).

Kim’s production company, 3AD, developed the series under its first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios. Kitao Sakurai directed the first two episodes.
Butterfly is a character-driven spy thriller that explores complex family dynamics within the treacherous world of global espionage. It’s centered on David Jung (Kim), an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by Rebecca (Hardesty), a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him, and Caddis, the sinister spy organization she works for.

I watched the first couple of episodes, I like the 2 leads and Piper Perabo is interesting in a villain role, but it's a bit bland and the fight scenes are clunky.

Overall, I liked it. I am happy for Daniel Dae Kim to have his Bourne series.

But man, as much as I enjoyed this show, the season 2 trailer/hook has turned me off of season 2 so much. I know what the show is doing, but man, after this season, I am not interested in that storyline, no matter how quickly they resolve it.

I finished it yesterday, I thought it got better as it went along and things thawed a bit between Rebecca and David, and they introduced the uncertainty between Juno and Oliver, these 2 dysfunctional and twisted parent/child relationships created an interesting juxtaposition.

This is the first major role I've seen Reina Hardesty in and she was good, and Daniel Dae Kim is always a reliably likable lead. I also thought the rest of the cast were good, especially Piper Perabo getting to be a ruthless villain with some potentially softer sentiments under her armor.

I agree with @Sithborg though, im not keen on more David/Rebecca drama in season 2, especially with such an obvious set up, id rather see them working together and focusing on whatever favour David owes Eunju's father.
